Putin's brain, they call him. Putin's spiritual advisor, they also call him. If so, then it looks like Ukrainian 'special forces' almost left the Russian government rudderless last night when Aleksandr Dugin's 30-year-old daughter Darya Dugin was killed in a car-bomb (which was apparently targeting her father).

Of course, in reality, Dugin has nowhere near the influence in Kremlin circles that Western 'intellectuals' ascribe to Russia's 'Eurasianist' philosopher. But decades of lies take their toll on certain types of people - not least ultra-nationalist Ukrainians - spurring them to commit crimes they believe will 'help' their cause and 'please master'.

This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall take stock of the major recent uptick in military attacks and sabotage (likely of Ukrainian origin) inside Russian-occupied Ukraine and the Russian Federation proper - not least the hare-brained scheme to provoke a meltdown at Zaporozhye's nuclear plant.

Besides, it's been a 'slow news week'.

The FBI raid on Trump's Florida residence is the current 'big news' in US politics, but is it not just more of the same 6-year-long deep state shenanigans to prevent Trump (or anyone who is not 'ideologically aligned') from ending 'Global Pax Americana'? And those who say that this 'own goal' all but 'guarantees' victory for Trump in a possible second presidential run in 2024 are deluding themselves. Watch the documentary '2,000 Mules' to see the lengths they went to to keep Trump from winning in 2020.

Meanwhile, despite the bombing of an airbase in Crimea last week, which was probably sabotage, the anticipated 'late summer surge' in Ukraine - from either side - has not (yet) occurred.

US government leaders have called for tighter gun control measures in the wake of two major mass shootings in the space of a week. While authorities are still getting their story straight about how the atrocity unfolded at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, on Thursday, the main media message is that civilians need to be prevented from acquiring assault rifles.

Meanwhile, no one bats an eyelid as the same authorities dump vast quantities of assault weapons into Ukraine, where it's known that they end up in the hands of criminal elements who have no qualms about slaughtering innocents with them. No matter, the Russian military is steadily putting out the fire the US government started in Russia's backyard.

This weekend, a teenaged lone gunman went on a shooting rampage in Buffalo, upstate New York, killing 10 Black people, 'to save the White race'. Stamped all over his social media selfies and 'white supremacist manifesto' are N**i symbols used heavily by Ukrainian N**is currently enjoined in battle with Russian forces.

In the modern Western belief system, N**is are bad people, always. Except when Russians commemorate the fall of Berlin in 1945 and their victory over N**ism each May 9th. Then, N**is are not-so-bad. And except when Russians are targeting N**is in Ukraine. Then, N**is are 'heroes'.

The revising of history to meet contemporary geopolitical requirements is having dangerous effects, and not just in Ukraine. No one except N**is would dispute that the Buffalo shooter falls under the category of 'bad N**i', but when the ideology he subscribes to is being encouraged in myriad ways by Western authorities, is he not, ultimately, 'their' N**i, and thus a 'good' one?

The admission this week by the US government that it assisted Ukrainian forces with sinking the Russian flagship 'Moskva' last month highlights the risk of the 'proxy war' between the USA and Russia in Ukraine escalating to a 'point of no return'.

For many years, the term 'New World Order' was used by US and some other Western officials to refer to the post-USSR world of unbridled Western dominance, in which the 'End of History' would see the whole Earth subsumed within Western civilization. In the meantime, an overlapping conception of the 'NWO' saw Western dissidents warn of a coming 'New World Order' in which globalist technocrats would control all governments and turn the entire global population into slaves.

Both of these conceptions of our shared future were 'true', depending on the point of view of the person using them. But now a different, non-Western conception of the 'new world order' is emerging, one that Western leaders are loathe to publicly recognize, but which they tacitly acknowledge because they are doing all they can to prevent its occurrence by setting off fires of war and want in a giant 'arc of instability' from the Middle East and Eastern Europe to Central Asia and the Far East.
