had this buck running doe all morning and until he gave him an opportunity at 8:30 this past Sunday morning. 40 yard poke and the Alaskan XT claimed its first victim👊🏼.

The Michaels clan is on the board👊🏼.
This has been a grueling season so far, many sits where nothing seemed to be happening. We kept telling ourselves, it’s gotta turn on here soon. This morning was the morning where it all came together. This buck was running doe all over the place, out of breath, winded, and tired. He presented Dad a 20 yard shot and the rest is history. There is something extremely special about seeing the man who taught us how to hunt, the man who spent countless hours hanging stands for us, putting us in good spots, connect on a beautiful archery buck👊🏼

No better time for prep than the summer. 3D has really help us stay sharp for the fall and has been a great excuse to pick up the bow and just sling so arrows.

Trail cams are going out and spots are being prepped. Archery season is closing in fast and we couldn’t be more pumped👊🏼

This past week, we had the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior through missions in Tangier Island, Virginia.

The government calls Tangier “the sinking island”. But the locals call it something else: “Paradise”. We had the privilege of documenting a typical Sunday morning on the water for the Mayor of Tangier, James “Ooker” Eskridge. Ooker has lived his entire life on Tangier and works not only as the mayor and head of council, but as a waterman focusing primarily on the soft shell crab industry. His brother William is also one of the remaining watermen left on the island. These photos are a glimpse into the islands legacy of the waterman.

It was an unforgettable week learning about a culture that is diminishing in popularity but thriving in the hearts of the islanders. Thank you, Tangier for the way you served to our hearts the same way our hands served on your shores.
