مروری بر رساله «خیابان؛ اعتراض و قدرت»

رساله خیابان؛ اعتراض و قدرت در یک برهه بسیار مهم تاریخی نوشته شده است. در برهه که همه ما داریم یا از نگاه اخلاقی یا از نگاه سیاسی و یا از نگاه فکری به یک گروه متحجّر، ارتجاعی و تروریستی تسلیم می شویم. و یا در مواردی می شود گفت بر ما تحمیل می شود. اگر جمله معروف مارکس را که گفته بود «شبح در اروپا در گردش است -شبح کمونیسم»، یک صد و هشتاد سال پس از او در بستر آسیا به طور کل و تمدن ایرانی به صورت مشخص به کار ببریم می توان گفت که شبحی در آسیا و حوزه تمدن ایرانی در گردش است- شبح افراطیت مذهبی. حداقل در دو دهه پسین این شبح هرازگاهی روح ما را دنبال و شکار کرده است.

نادر هاشمی از نظریه پردازان سیاسی در دانشگاه جورج تاون در کتاب "اسلام سکولاریزم و لیبرال دموکراسی" نیاز به طرح نظریه سیاسی سکولاریزم دین بنیاد را مطرح می کند. به باور او، از آن جای که سکولاریزم از دل اصلاحات مذهبی در اروپا بیرون شده است، اسلام نیز نیازمند اصلاحات درون دینیست تا فرصت ظهور سکولاریزم در جوامع مسلمان را بدهد. یکی از دلایل که سکولاریزم در کشورهای اسلامی به شکست مواجه شد همانا نبود نظریه بومی و تحمیل سکولارلیزم از بالا به پایین توسط دولت های خودکامه بود.

به دنبال حمله 15 میزان/مهر حماس بر اسرائیل دانشگاه های آمریکا در زمینه چگونکی واکنش دانشجویان و استادان دچار احتلافات شدیدی شدند. این اختلافات بر شکاف هویتی و ایدیولوژیکی میان جناح راست و چپ که تقربیا بیشتر از یک دهه بر دانشگاه ها و جامعه آمریکا سایه افگنده افزود. اختلافات از آن جا برجسته شد که یک روز پس از حمله حماس گروه همبستگی فلسطین در دانشگاه هاروارد بدون محکوم کردن حمله تروریستی بر ملکی های اسرائیلی یک جانبه اسرائیل را محکوم نمود. به دنبال آن نامه های دیگر در دانشگاه های کلومبیا ودیگر دانشگاه از جانب استادان و دانشجویان به گونه تقابل آمیز صادر گردیدند. جناح راست، دانشجویان و دانشگاه ها را بابت نادیده گرفتن ماهیت تروریستی حمله حماس به کوته بینی و حمایت از حماس متهم نمودند. در مقابل چپ ادعا دارد که حمله حماس باید در یک بستر تاریخی اشغال هفتاد ساله ارزیابی و فهم شود.

این تقابل به آزادی بیان در دانشگاه صدمه زده است. بسیاری از استادان و دانشجویان از ترس تنبه شدن از ابزار نظر خودداری می کند. از جانب دیگر، دانشگاه ها از ماموریت اصلی که شان که عبارت از تقویت کثرت گرایی افکار است فاصله گرفته اند و به محل تقابل سیاسی مبدل گشته اند.

در این برنامه پادکاست گفتگو ایده ها با دکتر لیور استرانفیلد استاد تاریخ و مطالعات یهودی در دانشگاه ایالتی پنسیلوانیا در زمینه این بحران در دانشگاه ها گفتگو کرده ام.
