The Iberian Horse Magazine Formerly Andalusian magazine, The Iberian Horse magazine is both a printed and digital publication dedicated to the Spanish and Portuguese Horse.

The Iberian Horse is a publication of the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA). The primary objectives and purposes of the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association are, first, to preserve, improve and maintain the purity of the blood of horses of the Andalusian breed, including horses of Spanish origin known as Caballo Pura Raza Espanola, and/or of Portugu

ese origin known as Cavalo Puro Sangue Lusitano or Raca Lusitano, and/or of Spanish/Portuguese origin; to promote public interest in the science of breeding Andalusian horses; and to foster, aid and encourage the breeding, exhibition and promotion of this breed. The second objective is to advance the knowledge and education of the public and members about horses of the Andalusian breed and to promote the acquisition and distribution of knowledge of the history, use and standard, medical and other care and treatment, and propagation of horses of the Andalusian breed. Archived issues of The Iberian Horse, and our previous publication Andalusian, can be found at http://www.theiberianhorse.online/

The materials deadline for Issue 1 is April 10.

Share your stories with us! Instead of Where We’ve Been Seen, we will include What We Are Doing. Due to the COVID virus, which has caused many of our early equestrian events to be cancelled, let us know what other things you have been doing with your horses. Perhaps your horses have never been so well groomed. Maybe you are schooling like crazy in anticipation of getting back in the ring. Or possibly you are taking advantage of getting out into nature with some trail rides.

Also, if you are thinking of advertising, don’t miss out on our historically low rates, and the Early Bird Special for ads placed in all 3 issues.

Send your stories and advertisements to [email protected] for more info.

Dec 13 - HAPPY NATIONAL DAY OF THE HORSE!

"Designating December 13, 2004, as National Day of the Horse and encouraging the people of the United States to be mindful of the contribution of horses to the economy, history, and character of the United States.

Whereas the horse is a living link to the history of the United States;

Whereas without horses, the economy, history, and character of the United States would be profoundly different;

Whereas horses continue to permeate the society of the United States, as witnessed on movie screens, on open land, and in our own backyards;

Whereas horses are a vital part of the collective experience of the United States and deserve protection and compassion;

Whereas because of increasing pressure from modern society, wild and domestic horses rely on humans for adequate food, water, and shelter; and

Whereas the Congressional Horse Caucus estimates that the horse industry contributes much more than $100,000,000,000 each year to the economy of the United States: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Senate—

(1) designates December 13, 2004, as ‘National Day of the Horse’, in recognition of the importance of horses to the security, economy, recreation, and heritage of the United States;

(2) encourages all people of the United States to be mindful of the contribution of horses to the economy, history, and character of the United States; and

(3) requests that the President issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States and interested organizations to observe the day with appropriate programs and activities."

Why horses were created.
03/12/2019

Why horses were created.

After making the little girl, God said:

“You’ll need something to lean on. Something with substance that will teach you the value of hard work, perseverance, and to never give up. A thing that won’t cast judgment when you mess up in life. Because you will often, it’s just part of growing up and becoming a decent human."

"You’ll need something whose impressive physical presence must be respected at all times. A being who could break your bones in a whisper but will never break your heart. A creature who will be there for you when you cry for hours after someone you love lets you down. An unspeaking breathing being that will teach you to check all the noise in your head and completely listen to what he is saying."

“Sometimes in life you need to let go and just hang on. I call this trust. The terrifying ability to follow something blindly out of the conviction of only your heart. It will keep you centered and restore your faith when life happens. When you realize that you are forgettable to the world you won’t be to this creature."

"Something that will keep you truly humbled yet teach you how to fly!"

“You need to understand the painful reality of death. Sometimes it’s ok to let go. That kindness will always be rewarded before the use of force. And that courage means trusting him to get you safely to the other side."

“Something to get you out of bed in the trying times. When you feel like you have nothing he will remind you that you are still wanted. Something to give you perspective about what’s really important in life."

“You’ll need a best friend. Do not take this relationship lightly. It just might save your life someday when you see no out. Treasure it always I’m trusting it to you to take care of for a reason."

“A creature who will restore your faith about all of the goodness in the world even when you are so broken down that you cast Me aside."

“In turn with time and healing he will bring you back to Me. Know that your struggle won’t be made alone, and don’t forget to enjoy the ride."

"So I will make a horse.”
