Hi all, I apologise for my absence. Over the last few days as a Family we have discovered that my one Step Sons requires an operation to have a lump removed and the Doctors think that there is a high chance its cancer. He is 14 and while putting on a brave face, we know he is worried. So as a family we have decided to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and my fundraising page is below.

Please share and donate if you are willing, but please if nothing else, talk to young people about cancer and the importance of checking themselves because as eye opening as it is to us as a family, cancer in children is common.

Movies are a big part of our lives, they allow us to escape in a similar way to what books do.
Sometimes people are more aware of the Film Adaption of a Book, rather than the Book itself.
So Movies On Monday is an opportunity to open up about the Films that have inspired us, or what we think about the differences in the Film and Book versions of stories we like.

Here are Two Poems For the June Battle Poets Entry: Straight in to the Semi Finals. The Voting Period will be Two Weeks and make sure you search our Facebook and Instagram to be able to Vote on which you think will go through to the Final.

Entry 1:
The garden is bright
Full of colors - but what’s this?
Faeries in the hedge

Entry 3:
Delicate,
Like the petals of the rose,
That’s how I was to pose,
And how I was I meant to be.
Tender,
To the touch,
Handle me,
but not too much.
Delicate,
No longer,
As I thirst,
For the water,
Of freedom,
To leave the shadows,
Of your overthrown kingdom.
My petals are my own,
You can have the throne,
Break your skin,
On the sin,
Of all that has been.
Delicate,
my soul may be,
but I have covered it,
in thorns,
with flaming swords,
protecting the petals of my heart,
happy and content,
I don’t need you anymore.

The Voting Period will be two Weeks for each Round, so the Semi Final Round Votes will count between 00:05 GMT on the 1st June until 23:00 GMT on the 14th June. Then the Voting Period for the Final will open at 00:05 GMT on the 15th June and closes at 23:00 GMT on the 28th June. The Winner will be revealed on the 1st July.

Entry 2:
She kneels beside her lovers grave,
a blood red rose;
the symbol of all his love he gave.
Love gone now to Heaven,
his sweet soul saved.
He stands with tears in his eyes,
a bunch of daffodils by his side;
tears of joy he cannot hide.
Love blossoms as the new born cries.
They sit with pride as their youngest gets married,
a bouquet of cascading orchids;
she lovingly carries.
Love begins till death us do part,
so willingly, never harried.

Entry 4:
The Rain Falls, The Sun Shines,
The Flowers Bloom in Beautiful Colour.
The Wind Blows, The Snows Cold,
The Flowers Wilt to Regrow Tomorrow.
The Petals Uncurl, The Pistil Lures,
The Flowers Aroma draws Us In.
The Stems Cut, The Waters Ready,
The Flowers displayed in Decorative Vases.
The Rain Falls, The Sun Shines,
The Flowers Grow Far and Wide.

It is not long until the new look Magazine will be available to read, we have some great new features, and some returning old ones, we have a running Battle Poets, which is going to be good fun, we also have a Children's Corner with 4 Child and Family Friendly Articles. A New short Music Video, an Audio Story, a complete list of Media Links to our current Social Media Accounts. It also has some great stories from new and regular writers. So on June 1st at 00:05 the Link will drop to the magazine, so keep your eyes peeled.

Christmas will soon be with us, so we are starting to lay the foundations for another great Themed issue of the magazine. In our Frightmare (October) and November Issues we will have more details on the Christmas themed Features we hope will make Issue 8, another greatly anticipated issue. October is Just round the Corner so that Means, Our Frightmare Magazine Edition is our Next Issue. We want to collect a great selection of Stories, Poems, Articles and more than help bring Frightmares to our readers. As well as regular and ongoing features. We want Frightmare to become a popular Yearly Event that gets our Writers and Readers excited. So come on and join in Frightmare is coming. Closing date for Submissions is the 28th September.
