Legit???
Riot will be bringing MASSIVE updates to Wild Rift, following LoL PC. (Read the caption for a very detailed explanation) It is stated that they will first be removing cooldown reduction in place of the new ability haste stat.
Here's how it works:
Take this test for example: (A 10s cooldown spell cast over 100 seconds)
With 10% CDR you can cast the spell 11.11 times in 100 seconds
With 10 ability haste, you can cast the spell 10% more times = 11 times in 100 seconds (equal to 9.1% CDR)
With 20 ability haste, you can cast the same 10s spell 12 times in 100 seconds (only equal to an extra 7.6% CDR)
Ability haste can be considered more 'balanced' because CDR gets more and more valuable (40% CDR is an INSANE increase in DPS), whereas ability haste is the opposite (The more ability haste you get, the less effective CDR you get).
What does this mean?
Ability haste WILL BE on many more items, not just the few items that had CDR. This will open a lot of new build paths for champions that previously relied on only buying CDR items. This will also change how some champions approach the game, considering that it is POSSIBLE to have a CDR upwards of 50%.
