Back in 2021, football superstar Kylian Mbappé became Dior's new global ambassador. The Paris Saint-Germain star would go on to represent both the men's fashion line, and the Sauvage men's fragrance line. With over 91.3 million loyal supporters online, Mbappé was the perfect match to push the brands awareness and drive sales around the globe🌍

Mbappé has been placed among Dior’s top 10 EMV-driving advocates over the past 12 months, generating $1.4M EMV across seven mentions.

Dior France netted $114.5M EMV from June 2021 to May 2022, enjoying a 10% year-over-year growth.....incredible numbers right?😱

Kanya Nanayakkara, Head of Brand Marketing at Tribe Dynamics made a good point when he stated that “Recently, several iconic brands have ignited conversation by teaming up with a different cohort of stars: professional footballers. Thanks to these athletes’ massive, deeply passionate fanbases, football players have proven impactful luxury ambassadors, generating significant engagement on social media and unlocking new audiences for brands.”

It's fair to say football is the biggest sport in the world and footballers are the biggest stars. With the rise of social media, their influence on things outside of the sport itself – fashion, lifestyle, music – has grown explosively. The new generation of players grew up with social media and knows exactly how to use it: they’re the perfect ambassadors for brands.

With Jack Grealish now working alongside Gucci and Marcus Rashford partnering up with Burberry, these huge collaborations and partnerships amongst footballers and fashion houses isn't going anywhere anytime soon😉

That makes it your best opportunity to introduce yourself and your brand, help your audience understand what you do and who you serve, and prompt them on the next steps✨

Name field is completely separate to the username. The words included to Name field are searchable on Instagram. Using targeted keywords is a great way to be discovered & get more followers.

Back in 2021, Lush Cosmetics announced that the brand would deactivate its Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Snapchat accounts in response to growing concerns about the mental health effects of social media. The company took the accounts offline the day after Thanksgiving, and Lush’s chief digital officer Jack Constantine said it had no plans to return them anytime soon, even if it meant losing millions of dollars.

So what have they been doing since they shut down their accounts?

1. Lush have invested heavily in partnerships with the likes of Netflix's Stranger Things where they have a massive following on social media so that they can use their audience to maintain brand awareness.

2. The famous brand have also opted to focus more on real life opportunities for their customers! They created World Bath bomb day where they gave over 100,000 bath bombs to shoppers. After this giveaway, traffic increased by roughly 60% compared to an average Wednesday.

3. Lush elevated their customer experience by revamping all their stores across the UK and Europe.

One thing I have learned in the last few years since starting Sarah Jane Designs is to never stop, even when things get tough which is normal in life.

When I do find myself hitting a wall or going through a tough time mentally I try to remember the following:

👉Think about how far I've come and what I've achieved
👉Think about how people value what I do
👉Think about the future, my hopes and dreams and how I will make it through this storm

At the end of last year, Instagram began testing a hot new feature to support building an online community on the platform.....group profiles!✨

The feature — not dissimilar to Facebook Groups — allows users to collaborate and share content to one Instagram profile.

As Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, explained "We've seen a lot of people share passwords on Instagram, which is not a great idea, [so we] tried to figure out a simple way to support groups."

"More visible, more successful"

This is exactly what Dior CEO Pietro Beccari said in his interview with Vogue when the brands pop up shop appeared in Harrods London at the end of last year✨

The takeover included an in-store Dior cafe; an immersive exhibition recreating Dior locations in hand-piped gingerbread villages; two new pop-up shops; and window displays dedicated to men’s, women’s, fragrance, baby and home, featuring iconic pieces, from the Bar Jacket to the Book Tote.

“During Christmas, people want to spend a good moment, to feel some emotion,” says Dior CEO Pietro Beccari. “Events like this help Dior to be more visible and ultimately to be more successful.”🙂

Dior will measure the success of the takeover based visibility and image, focusing on social media impression and press reaction first and foremost, Beccari says, “I believe that people will speak loudly about this and this is what we care most about, but of course, there will be sales, I hope, to compensate the investment we made.”

All over social media we say posts, reels and stories of this breathtakingly beautiful pop up, which means Beccari and the team at Dior truly worked their magic!

This pop up shop is a prime example of smart, and spectacular marketing that pushes a brands online presence whilst also enticing people to make a purchase and gain a little insight into the world of luxury💟

When YouTube announced back in September that it would allow video makers to earn money from Shorts, the video site’s TikTok clone, creators were intrigued✨

15 billion Shorts are viewed daily, yes, you read that correctly.

Shorts can help you attract millions of subscribers in no time compared to your regular YouTube video content.

Why?👀

I believe YouTube Shorts has one of the best organic reaches on the platform. When you create an engaging Short with all the SEO-focused tags and keywords, nothing can stop an increase in your engagement numbers.

YouTube also rolled out a $100 million Shorts fund for creators to make more Shorts in 2022 and 2023, but only a few countries fall under the category to receive these funds which are hoped to be rolled out to more countries in the near future.

I know there has always been a big divide amongst those in the marketing and social media world when it comes to Emily In Paris, but I must admit, j'aime beaucoup👀

Although yes I agree it is unrealistic at times, the hit series has most definitely taught me a lot when it comes to social media! Swipe across to have a read through all my learnings✨

One of my favourite learnings has to be work to live, don't live to work, and this is very much a French thing! Working in the marketing and communication field, I have learned that you need all the creativity, inspiration and ideas I can possibly get!

Ohhh the Instagram algorithm, it can either be incredible or your worst nightmare👀

The algorithm isn’t necessarily a single algorithm but rather a combination of algorithms, processes, and classifiers that work to personalise your individual user experience. Instagram initially used a simple chronological algorithm that displayed posts in order of how they were created. However the Instagram algorithm in 2023 has become a highly sophisticated system for determining which content to display to each user based on what they care about the most.

My answer would have to be you need to define your goals first...what are your objectives? Without goals, you have no way to measure success and ROI (return on investment)😉

Let's make it easy: Each of your social media marketing goals should be SMART- specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound✨

Start developing a productive social media marketing plan by writing down at least three goals you want to achieve on your accounts💟

Once you have a clear vision, it will be a lot easier for you to decide what platform you want to use to promote your brand and for you to create fun, engaging and diverse content🙂

Being creative isn’t all about writing a novel or painting a masterpiece. Creativity applies across all areas of your life, from making a delicious meal, to coming up with a killer outfit or a game changing idea for your work.

There are many benefits to having a creative mindset:
