Been eyeing this game since last year when I saw it at Nintendo's eshop then found out recently that I could actually play this game for free via Netflix mobile app.

Yes, you just took on Charon's job because he retired.

In Spiritfarer, you will grant the last wishes/requests of the deceased spirits before you finally send them off to Everdoor (the beginning and the end).

Still halfway through the game but it's already making me this emotional.
