Join the discussion on Friday, Oct 29th @ 3pm MT. I'll chat w/ Dr. Robin Waterman about her role founding and leading a Colorado non-profit that helps immigrants find education and health resources.

After graduating from Harvard University, Dr. Waterman has spend her career pursuing her passion to help meet the needs of people in Latin America and the United States.

HOT TAKE: This is NOT about the crisis at the U.S./Mexico border. The focus is on community service and helping meet the needs of our neighbors.

The non-profit group Focus On The Forest is dedicated to restoring and reclaiming our public lands by cleaning up waste found in national forests around Colorado. Shawn Nielsen and his wife, Eve, started the group five years ago, and in today's livestream chat he shares about the hope their group brings to people and communities.

The work maybe dirty, but they bring a positive attitude that's helped build a community of strong supporters.

He shares some of the strange things they've found while cleaning sites in the Pike National Forest, how his team partners with the U.S. Forest Service - PSICC National Forest, and what motivated him to start this group in 2016.

Colorado may get a new national park: Camp Amache. A bill to make the WWII Japanese internment camp located outside Granada, Colorado, a national park was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives on July 29, 2021. The bill now awaits approval by the Senate.

Camp Amache holds historic significance in Colorado history during World War II and it's aftermath. Our state is known for national parks with great recreation opportunities, but Camp Amache would be a much more solemn experience, and one worth preserving.

Colorado turns 145!
I'd love to hear what you love about our amazing state. And I share my bad habit (sort of) while I'm out hiking.

Just think, in 5 more years Colorado will be 150!

Today we commemorate Colorado becoming a state. On Aug. 1, 1876, Colorado became the 38th state to join the Union.

One of the great things about living in Colorado is finding locations that are still wild like the old West. Like driving through open range grazing outside of Granby today. I was on these cows’ turf.

Mile High Live is designed to offer something positive on social media, because this 👇 isn't working so well:

"Our social media companies are a slot machine. They are designed to keep you using them, by any means necessary, including addiction. And right now, they’re addicting us to hating our outgroups."

With so much focus on the presidential race, local candidates across our communities are being overshadowed. Over the next few weeks, I plan to talk with candidates for local office to hear about why they're running.
This is my first interview in the series. I talk with County Commissioner Lora Thomas from Douglas County about her accomplishments over the past four years and a look ahead to the next four years.

How about more of this! 👇👇👇

"Thanks to the coronavirus lockdowns and who knows what else, it seems like people are just itching for conflict lately. If you get in their space or just look at them wrong they take that as license to come at you full force, maybe physically attacking you or getting you “cancelled.” It even happens to parents of kids who apparently don’t adhere to some lofty behavior ideals.

Anyway, this guy presents the problem of the child rolling on his private property, triggering the motion alarm on his camera almost every evening. That’s annoying to deal with, especially since the parents are right there walking the dogs with him. Shouldn’t they be teaching him to stay off people’s sacred driveways?"
