There are also nearly 20 reviews of the book on Amazon — all 5-star. In fact, we have been contacted by publishing companies interested in ZBC. When we asked what led them to contact us, they each said that a 100% 5-star rating is what caught their attention. So, though there is always the risk of attracting Internet trolls and negative attention, I want to ask for your help in this very public forum.

As the Diversity Outreach Coordinator for Christians United for Israel (CUFI), in 2017, I helped lead the only Christian effort to tell the story of the Mizrahi Jews called “The Mizrahi Project”. The Mizrahi Project is a series of short films featuring stories of Jews who were expelled or forced to flee from what are now Arabized or Islamic lands. There are nearly one million of these Forgotten Refugees. One potential interviewee for the project was an Iranian Jewish woman living in Los Angeles. My team and I were connected to the young lady from the Persian Jewish community there. I’ll call her Riyah. Riyah thanked us for our efforts but declined to appear in the series as she still has family in Iran. She did not doubt that, once her video was seen, the Iranian regime would imprison or otherwise harm her loved ones.

That moment brought home a sobering reality to me. My colleagues and I were telling the stories of past bo***ge and freedom, yet there are still thousands of Jews being held against their will in Iran today. While we were free to speak about their suffering, Riyah was not. As a Black American, I am free to protest and even rectify any injustice my community faces. As a Persian Jew with a family still under the yoke of the Iranian regime, Riyah could not tell her story. We became her voice.

Again, Louis Farrakhan enjoys the company and praise of very powerful Black leaders. At [nearly 89] years old, he has never been more formidable. What’s more, Black criticism of Farrakhan’s hate-filled rhetoric for Jews is sparse and dwindling. Though he does not speak for the majority of Black Americans, Farrakhan’s open Jew-hatred goes virtually unopposed in the Black community—this must change.

In a May 2008 article, Dr. King’s attorney and friend, Dr. Clarence Jones, stated:

“Martin was disheartened that so many blacks could be swayed by Elijah Muhammad’s Nation of Islam and other black separatists, rejecting his message of nonviolence and grumbling about ‘Jew landlords’ and ‘Jew interlopers’ – even ‘Jew slave traders.’

“The resentment and anger displayed toward people who offered so much support for civil rights was then nascent. But it has only festered and grown over four decades [since Dr. King’s death]. Today, black-Jewish relations have arguably grown worse, not better.

“For that, Martin would place fault principally on the shoulders of black leaders such as Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson – either for making anti-Semitic statements, inciting anti-Semitism (including violence), or failing to condemn overt anti-Semitism within the black community.”

In a December 2019 interview with the media outlet, Al Jazeera, [Black Lives Matter co-Founder] Patrisse Cullors stated that BLM’s solidarity trips to Palestine have been “laying the foundation for the more public face in solidarity,” which has been “incredibly powerful for our movement.” With the recent 2020 tragic deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky, Ahmad Abery in Glynn County, Georgia, and other Black victims of White police officers, there is no group fighting for justice more visible than Black Lives Matter. Sadly, BLM’s activism is grossly tainted with a fixation on demonizing Israel, which has absolutely nothing to do with justice for Black people in America. Conflating the two disparate issues manipulates Black pain and suffering, calling BLM’s motives into serious question. If the Black Lives Matter organization is legitimately concerned about improving the quality of Black lives, why is it a mouthpiece for Palestinian terrorism against Israel? How does BLM’s anti-Zionist ideology help Black people? For that matter, how does it help the Palestinian people?

Dear young people,

These are Black American soldiers of World War I (1914-1918). After helping defeat Germany and the other Central Powers, soldiers like these returned to the US and used their military pay to help build Tulsa’s Black Wall Street, where Black families lived and worked as manufacturers, landowners, oil barrons, architects, pastors, doctors, lawyers and more. Even after Tulsa’s Greenwood District was completely destroyed in the 1921 Race Massacre, the survivors rebuilt it bigger and better than ever in just two years.

The era of Black Wall Street lasted from the 1910s until the 1960s, partially destroyed by the federal government’s "War on Poverty."

If you don’t know your history, you have no idea where you’re headed.
