today i voted for decency. i voted for humanity. i voted for progress. i voted for freedom.
freedom for women to make their own decisions about their body. freedom for young trans people to access gender affirming care. freedom for people of all faiths to worship freely and fearlessly. freedom for immigrants to remain in the United States in pursuit of a better tomorrow. freedom for teachers to teach a well-rounded, well-informed, inclusive version of our nation’s history. freedom for LGBTQ+ families and allies to continue to love loudly and proudly. freedom for BIPOC, especially Black Americans, to access the same protections, opportunities, and privileges as their White American counterparts equally and equitably. freedom to breathe clean air, and drink clean water and live free from the pollution that fuels the climate crisis. freedom for all regardless of race, gender, sexuality, faith, and color.
it was an honor to cast my ballot for a ticket that promises unity and for leaders who lead with love. and a privilege to vote for the first woman president of the United States.
