A wonderful example of Inclusion!

Now, this is inclusion! 👰‍♀️ A bridal boutique in England dressed a mannequin sitting in a in one of their wedding dresses, and the locals loved it! Every part of life should be inclusive, and that surely includes one of the most life events for many: their wedding 💒

Deaf gain

With more than 466 million Deaf and hard of hearing people in the world, it’s a market and talent pool that shouldn’t be ignored. There is a great deal to be realized by hiring DHH employees, and the issue could be reframed by using what some in Deaf culture call “Deaf Gain”. Diversity Vs Inclusion

Diversity Vs Inclusion

While they may be similar terms, diversity does not automatically create inclusion. Think of diversity as the bare minimum, but inclusion takes it past that by creating a welcoming environment for all to thrive. Vernā Myers is the VP of Inclusion Strategy at Netflix and the founder/president The Vernā Myers Company (TVMC), a nationally recognized diversity and inclusion consultancy.

Good point! Disability is not inability!

When you see a person wearing glasses, do you question their ability to function in the world? Do you take pity on them? Do you assume they can’t do a job properly? No, because many people have some degree of vision loss, and it's considered normal. Yet, many people have some degree of hearing loss, so why should your reaction be any different? Deaf and hard of hearing people are more than their ears—they are hard workers, creative, can adapt to situations, advocates, parents, professionals, and so on. Look beyond the disability, and you will see who they actually are.
