I've still got heaps of photos to sift through from the trip but I'm just too lazy to post most of them. Here's one from the Makgadikgadi in Botswana. We spend the night camped out on Kubu island and sky definitely did not disappoint. No people around means no light pollution and the result is this amazing view. My camera is pretty rubbish, but you get the idea. If you want big skies and huge open spaces, Botswana is the place to be 🌌

The southern most point of Africa. That can only mean one thing! I've made it, 20,000km later I've completed this crazy trip from the UK to Cape Town. Looking forward to spending some days here to relax and let it all sink in.
22 countries later, it's been s**t, it's been amazing, it's been relentlessly tough and it's been incredibly rewarding. I've met the most amazing people, seen a whole other world and come away with a full passport, empty wallet and mind full of incredible memories 🥂

📍Bosua pass, Namibia. Apparently one of the most remote roads in the country. Not sure if that's true but I managed not to see anyone for 200 miles, which is perfect for me. I'm in Windhoek now and will be having a chill day tomorrow. After that, heading to Botswana, the penultimate country of the whole trip!

Gun fingers if you're in Namibia apparently 🙄
Swapped the bike for a bit of luxury today as I joined this wonderful group exploring Sandwich Harbour in their Hilux. Namibia is a strange place, despite it having one of the lowest population densities in the world, it feels absolutely full of tourists. Totally different experience to the rest of Africa, kind of like a much sandier Europe

Etosha PT.2 - this place is too amazing for a single post. More residents of the reserve, including a white rhino!
P.S. if you're included towards shooting these incredible animals with anything other than a camera, you're a c*nt, and please fall in the sea

Seeing the incredible wildlife of Etosha national park has been a dream come true, there's been lions, hyena, elephants, giraffe, white rhino and much more. Namibia is a whole other world, totally different to the rest of Africa so far but a much welcome change. Looking forward to spending some extended time here exploring the country 🇳🇦

Angola 🇦🇴
I stopped for lunch by a lake overlooking a traditional village of thatch houses. Tentatively, the village kids made their way over, stopping the hide at the edge of the grass where they watched for 20 minutes before the bravest of the group ventured over. I didn't have any chocolate this time around and my Portuguese is none existent, but a healthy application of Google translate and lots of smiling and we were all friends. Qué half an hour spent learning their names and chatting away, learning about their village telling them about England - which many of them had never even heard off!

Hello from the southern hemisphere! Lots to report over the past couple of weeks, lots of miles, lots of adventures. After a few days stuck at Calabar port I finally escaped the craziness of Nigeria via the heavily pirated Bay of Guinea. That experience is definitely going on the list of things not to be repeated 😂. Cameroon came and went in a flash but things were already noticeably different from West Africa. Gabon was beautiful with endless jungle scenery and finally I was into the dry season too! I put in a big shift on the tarmac and got 365 miles done, crossing the equator and most of the country in one go. No hotel to look forward to, instead I ended up sleeping in a barn near a church (although it turned out to be a good place to fix the leaky fork seal that'd developed). The evening was spent playing checkers with the village children and being mugged for the entirety of my chocolate and fruit juice provisions, but it seemed like a fair deal in exchange for somewhere to sleep. Today I crossed the border via a 180 miles dirt section and that brings me to country number 16 - Congo! I'll likely spend a week whilst I await my Angolan visa. So far though, the scenery is great and the people welcoming, so there are worse places to whittle away the days...

I've no problem admitting that I was genuinely quite apprehensive to come to Nigeria. The place has a seriously bad reputation for corruption, kidnapping, piracy and violence. The rest of west Africa has not exactly been plain sailing and I was warned to expect all the same but worse here. Well, it's only been been here one day and things could certainly deteriorate over the coming week, but it might actually my favourite country I've been to in west Africa so far! The troublesome police and customs checkpoints I'd read about turned out to be some of the friendliest, most welcoming groups I've met so far. Everybody want to say hello and get a photo (these photos are all from being here literally a few hours). The crazy traffic is no worse than anywhere else (although a minibus did drive into me earlier 🙄) and the scammers are nowhere to be seen. Lets see how the next week goes, but maybe Nigeria isn't so bad after all!

Donkey's new colour scheme pretty much sums up Guinea in the rainy season. It's muddy as hell! Mixed feelings on the country so far. Some extremely friendly people, but some very corrupt police constantly trying to extort bribes from you. Not the easiest place to get around as the road networks are poor, weathers pretty temperamental this time of year and general infrastructure is very 'African' - don't expect WiFi, paved road, running water or reliable electricity. But it's all part of the adventure - as are the bloody punctures I keep getting 😂
Thanks as always to the companies who help make this trip happen, tried and tested in some proper tough conditions: .spec always up to the challenge

By total chance, in a tiny town amidst the endless expanse of the Mauritanian Sahara I met on his crazy walk across Africa! Despite taking on such a crazy, incredible challenge, he is one of the humblest, nicest guys you'll ever meet on the road. We sat together in this little building with a couple of locals, chat, cooked and ate, then went our separate ways.
Safe travels and good luck with Senegal when you get here. I hope your stay is more pleasant than mine has been 😂

Swipe to see the changing scenery. As I moved south through Mauritania the scenery slowly changed, my usual accompaniment of the last few days (sand), tentatively gave way to signs of greenery. The first picture was taken on some off piste track among the Mauritanian Sahara in 52° heat and the second, on the border road to Senegal. Now I have crossed the river into this new country, the barrenness of Mauritania has given way to plants, people and animals and I sense I am leaving a very Martian feeling landscape behind to one that is teeming with life

I'm alive! I made it to Nouakchott after two days in the desert. Having aircon and WiFi tonight feels like the heat of luxury after two 300+ mile days in 52 degree heat! Mauritania has been brilliant so far though and I'll reveal more later. For now here is me, doing a selfie somewhere in Western Sahara 🤳

I promise I will eventually use the tripod drag myself into shot, but I'm generally a sweaty sunburnt mess and none of you need to see that. Anyway, here's the road to nowhere in the high Atlas. The track isn't on any map but is an old French access route visible by satellite. Unfortunately, landslides have taken their toll so I was unable to make the full pass today. As much as I would love to suggest I'm miles from civilization here, there's actually a village (okay, few houses and some chickens) about 5 miles away from here...
Morocco is only getting better as I move south, the people are getting friendlier, the landscapes are getting more spectacular and it's all starting to feel like a real adventure.

My first post of the big African adventure...
Not a great deal has happened so far, a little bit of dirt and dodgy driving, but otherwise just than sunburn and 'interesting' smelling motorcycle gear. So, in the interest of laziness I'm just going to link today's travel blog post, because I'm tired and can't be bothered to write two things in one day. Enjoy 🫠 https://thewanderingnye.travelmap.net/posts/morocco-day-2

After a very long 10 days travelling 3,500 miles across multiple countries we made it home with Max and Lucky, the Kosovan pups 🎉🥰

A massive thanks to everyone who donated to you helped buy some food and pay vet bills, to Lulzim himself for the amazing care he gives to all the dogs he takes in and for helping with these two crazy girls! Thanks to for the driving and help with everything, .rooke for making this all possible getting us in touch with the right people on the day I found Lucky and of course to everyone who has followed along the journey with us.

Here's to their forever home filled with love and playtime ❤️

I'm doing a thing...

Being the organisational nincompoop that I am, there's not been a great deal of detailed planning gone into the trip so far. Still, the plan is roughly to ride down the western side of Africa this summer, in approximately four months raising a bit of money for the very deserving Second Chance Morocco and Mental Health Motorbike along the way. Stand by for more travel spam to come, it's gonna be a hell of a ride🤘

If any companies would like to kindly contribute to the trip, I would be incredibly appreciative. Good gear makes travel far more accessible. I'll be blogging/posting lots of content throughout, so you're sure to gain lots of exposure through my 8 followers... hit me up 😂

Thank you for creating the swanky graphic
