Success is never linear; there are twists and turns till you get to your “final” destination. had left a comment on my Okra soup post, asking where we “see” money to buy all the ingredients for the soup? And my response was “it was not always this way”. We are where we are today first by the special grace of God, then family and friends.
These pictures are that of our “landlords” when we were in Mattoon, the first house we had rented. I put landlord in quote, because they were more than that to us!
We were two broke students with a DREAM!

We would always look forward to them coming to “visit” us in Mattoon! We thoroughly enjoyed their company; Opa will give us advice on how to fix the house etc, Oma will take us shopping for groceries 🤪🤪🤪… and before leaving, they will give us “pocket money”🥹.

There were 1001 things they did for us. They even came to Nigeria with us when we got married.
We had people like Pastor Van and Diane, Tony Sparks (and a lot more) that poured into us!
God puts people in our lives that will bless us and we should in turn bless others when we get the opportunity 🙏🏿.

After our dad’s near death experience last year, we are happy we have a new year to celebrate with him!
Please help us wish our dad, Prof Martin Eze Obi a happy 82nd birthday!

When it comes to meat pies, I prefer having a crust that is made of just butter, but sausage rolls are different. I think I prefer a combo.

Combining butter and margarine (50:50) when making sausage rolls gives you a crust that is light, slightly flaky and makes for an easy dough to work with.


Butter: Crust is rich, flavorful, and flaky.
However the crust is denser and hard to work with.(I love the flakiness with my pies, but not for my sausages)

Margarine + Butter Combo: Crust is light, slightly flavorful and slightly flaky but very easy to work with.

Do you prefer Chapati or the Yogurt Bread? See the last slide.

Chapati is a flat bread that either originated from India or East Africa. It is made with flour, salt, oil and water. In Kenya, it is eaten at least once per week and in the rural areas, they are actually special treats eaten during Xmas.
When I typed “Kenya’s favorite food”, I was hoping to see it in the top 5 spots…actually #9 🫣🤪. Now you know!
