SPOTLIGHT: Listen to the lyrics of this song. I feel like it's one of the best written and performed songs in decades. It is about what is happening in Cuba, Venezuela, the United States and many more.

Correlation and continuity in their work is what characterizes, without a doubt, the musical work carried out by The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra, the same group that scores a new success in its well-accomplished discography. With a short, suggestive and precise title: “Especie”, it is a musical single with a profound message and successful ex*****on: as is characteristic of this group based in Connecticut.

The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra makes this musical cut available to its followers, lovers of the genre, music lovers and collectors, as well as specialized critics, which will be part of the third cdgraphic production in which they are already working. For the occasion, migration appears from the window and the musical proposal of those led by William Mendoza (its founder), who have signed up for a subject of everlasting validity and urgent and intelligent treatment, addressed correctly in this necessary and timely release: to raise awareness.

Close to celebrating 20 years in the music scene, The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra has two productions and three musical singles. And as mentioned in the initial lines, the message that they have carried throughout this time is a distinctive one, with a lot of content, with a varied rhythm (bolero included), but with the share of narrative and/or social denunciation, of close in relation to the concept "Salsa Focila": "Folklore of the Latin city", associated with the Panamanian singer-songwriter Rubén Blades and his lyrics with a lot of social arguments, from thinking people made for an also thinking public.

Thus, in the discography of The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra we can enjoy and reflect, at the same time, with songs such as “Latinos Ni De Aquí Ni De Allá” (in their production EL REGRESO, 2014); or songs like “El Camino”, “Doña Soledad”, “Mi Padre, Un Trabajador” and “Así Es La Vida”, in his second and most recent production titled EL CAMINO (2021). But also of his singles "Unidos En Una Sola Voz" and "Lo Afortunado Que Soy", which we invite you to taste aurally, and then, verify this narrative line and musical flag that The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra raises.

"Species" has its origin in a family gathering, approximately two years ago, between William Mendoza and his grandchildren. That afternoon, the experience of grandfather and the perspicacity of fresh minds and noble hearts, deepened -without intending it- on the adventures that every person has to go through who, wrapped (as if encouraged and protected at the same time) in a dream of overcoming, launches to the "adventure" of conquering lands whose borders have been imposed and are denied to them, except access, the human conditions to be able to live in it.

Immediately, Mendoza communicated with an old acquaintance, the musician and composer from Caracas (Venezuela) Reinaldo "Rey" Torcat, to whom he conveyed the idea of the song he needed. Shortly after, Rey Torcat presented him with the composition on which William Mendoza (hand in hand with Charlie García) set out to work hard on its arrangement, modifying it over and over again, up to this precise point in which it is taken to the study of recording.
