Happy Birthday to George Hurley - drummer of eclectic hardcore band the Minutemen, one of the most influential bands from the 1980s scene.

Listing him as one of the greatest drummers of all time, describes him as ‘a jazz fan whose impossible speed, versatility and nuance made him the most inventive drummer to emerge from the American indie rock scene of the 1980s’

While the Minutemen never hit, and actively avoided the mainstream, you probably would have heard them before. Their track ‘Corona’ is instantly recognisable from its use in the Jackass films.
