Awesome field trip to the State Capitol yesterday with ! This month’s class featured a deep dive into Parish and State Government. It was a great day filled with the valuable insights shared by State Representative Chad Brown and Senator Caleb Kleinpeter. Our class all had the privilege to ask directly about the opportunities, challenges, and other ongoing projects going on in Iberville and across the state, as well as an awesome behind-the-scenes tour! 🏛️

Guess who’s back, back again? I rolled over to New Orleans this morning (right in time for king cake season) and captured more of The Personnel Consulting Group’s outstanding testimonials. This time their President, Jim Schneider, CPA, CIA was in the hot seat! 💼🎥 Along with a few incredible PCG partners and their past candidates. I am honored to get their business again this year and excited to continue telling the PCG story!

“What? Like it’s hard?” 🏋️‍♀️🦅 .athletics girls powerlifting team making it look easy at their meet this past weekend! With a few of them even lifting 200+ lbs. 💪 The entire team took home medals this weekend with 5 ladies securing 1st place and 4 ladies taking home 2nd place. 🥇🥈

Today, the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge celebrated all Catholic Communicators by hosting the First Annual Commissioning of Communicators in honor of the feast day of St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists. I was honored to attend, celebrate Mass and network with other likeminded communicators across our Diocese.

The job can look different throughout the day, and journalism is no where near the top of my to do list. But at the base line of a communication professional, we have the honor of sharing the good news along with the not-so-good news. Things can erupt in our world and the first thought is “this is such a tragedy.” And shortly followed, is the second thought: “I have to get to work.” Most days, the name of the game is constant optimism, also known as “toxic positivity”. The days are filled to the top with silver linings and I’m so blessed, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
