Speaking of our New Order episode, we interviewed Pulsars singer Dave Trumfio but maybe we should've asked him what his favorite song on Shake It Up is instead. Daaave? There's LITERALLY cars in this newly remastered 90s video.

Exclusive video premiere of ‘Tunnel Song’ by Pulsars, from their self-titled debut album. Set to hit streaming platforms for the first time on November 15th. After decades in the dark, Pulsars are back, bringing their iconic self-titled debut to the digital world on November 15 (Damaged Disco/Ti...

Speaking of our New Order episode, Adam snuck one of his favorite moments into this new song preview. "Blue Monday" played live on Top of the Pops and Bernard rolling his eyes when the AHHHHHHHHs come in at the wrong time. See any other favorites in there?

NEW EPISODE UP! Ah, the bizarre love/hate life of the New Order fan. What’s your most loved and least favorite song on Low-Life?! For our fourth Request Episode Election, we went through dozens of listener suggestions to nominate Joe Jackson's Look Sharp, Jane's Addiction's Ritual de lo Habitual and this 1985 Manchester classic, which won in a landslide election. While half of us moaned about the album choice from our mystery nominators (MIA), we all had lots of great memories to share of adoring and rolling our eyes at NO. Superfan Sam hosted and held up lots of New Order vinyl, old tshirts were dusted off and Adam delivered an avalanche of guest rankers, starting with San Diego superstars Koi Division, who donned their iconic fish heads for a filmed interview. Days later, he visited Gold-Diggers Sound in Los Angeles to chat with Dave Trumfio of the synth-lovin' Pulsars, whose lone 1997 debut/farewell album has finally recently been reissued. In addition to getting tribute band opinions from San Francisco's Temptation - a tribute to New Order and San Diego's Thieves Like Us (Substance - New Order Tribute responded too late to praise "Sunrise"), he got first hand accounts of 91X - San Diego FM's infamous 1985 year-end countdown switcheroo from DJs Dwight Arnold, Pam Wolf and Billy Bones. Hey listeners, Help us solve this mystery? It's eluded us for four years now.....

MYSTERY MAN PHOTO. With the recent sad passing of San Diego radio DJ Steve West, it got me thinking of our many interactions. I always meant to put this mystery out to the public. This photo comes from the collection of Dwight Arnold, who took TONS of fantastic backstage photos at 91X shows. That's him on the right and Steve in the middle. Who's on the left? Dwight is pretty sure that they were in the opening act at a show likely at the San Diego Sports Arena, date unknown but it had to be 1983-93 when Dwight was there though he thinks it's late 80s and a British man from an opening band at the San Diego Sports Arena. Steve thought it could be Keith Strickland from the B-52's NYE 1989 show I went to but Dwight says no. My money is on a bastard child of Damon Albarn from Bluh and Dave Matthews. Here are SOME (not all) 91X shows at the Sports Arena from that era. Dwight says it's not anyone listed below:
1993: Cure/Cranes
1992: LennyK/the Cult, GnR/Soundgarden, Rush/Primus, U2/Pixies, B52s/Femmes
1991: Sting/Concrete Blonde, INXS/? , Neil Young/Social D, Moz/Phranc
1990: DMode/Nitzer Ebb, Billy Idol/Faith No More
1989: REM/Robyn Hitchcock, the Cure/Shelleyan Orphan, the Cult/?
1988: UB40 w/?, INXS w/PiL, Sting w/?, Oingo w/?
1987: DMode w/Voice Farm, Echo, New Order, Gene Loves Jezebel, Duran/Bangles, Cure w/?, Billy Idol/Cult, U2/Lone Justice, Pretenders/Iggy
1986: Oingo/Wall of Voodoo, DMode/Book of Love, Mellencamp/Hooters, OMD/?
1985: Mr Mr, Petty/Blasters/Lone Justice, DMode/Book of Love
1984: Cars/Wang Chung, Billy Idol/?, Duran
1983: Costello/?
CONFIRMED NOT TO BE HIM: Damon Albarn -Bluh, Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Rob Dickinson (Catherine Wheel), Phil Collins, Thomas Dolby, EMF singer, Faith No More's Mike Patton, David Faulkner from Hoodoo Gurus, Ed Kowalczyk from Live, Dave Matthews, Mr Mister's Richard Page, David Loverling (Pixies), Simply Red singer, Sting, Curt Smith (TFF), James Taylor, Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes)
