Artwork and furniture from creative powerhouse Ric Geyer are currently on display at Mercer University's McEachern Art Center through January 25, 2025.
Geyer stays busy with Triangle Arts Macon, a 4 acre creative arts space, and creating furniture under the Val-Kill Furniture brand, which was established by none other than Eleanor Roosevelt. Geyer's past projects are equally impressive as his current ones and his creative endeavors are traced from his childhood to the present in "Progression: From the Archives of Ric Geyer."
McEachern Art Center is located 332 2nd Street and is open Thursdays through Saturdays from 4 to 8 p.m.
The 6th annual Fire & Ice ceramic and glass exhibition and sale will be taking place through Saturday, November 16th.
With live demonstrations, thousands of glass and ceramic pieces and art from more than thirty artists, Fire & Ice is one of the largest festivals of its type according to its organizer, Macon Ats Alliance.
Fire & Ice will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through November 15th and from 12 to 4 p.m. on the last day of the festival, Saturday, November 16th. There will also be a special Happy Hour event on November 14th from 4 to 6 p.m.
Fire & Ice takes place in Central City Park's historic Round House.

Downtown Macon's First Friday celebrations are an excellent time to hear live music from performers such as Trombone Love and Bob & Blender. During August's First Friday, there were at least four places on Cherry Street to listen to music on the sidewalk and some even were moved to dance by all the good vibes.
Georgia is home to 426 bird species, according to Wikipedia. That means you can often hear them singing cheerily in the trees and sky, especially early in the morning.
One of the reasons Middle Georgia is a great place to live is the many species of animals that also live here as well as the many miles of forests and waterways that we share with them.
It is important that we all do our part to protect our natural resources so that future generations can also enjoy the beautiful sounds of birds singing.

Macon is going to get a lot more pink this week with the start of the International Cherry Blossom Festival on Friday. The festival's nickname is The Pinkest Party on Earth.
The main events of the festival, like nightly concerts, a human cannonball show, and much more, will take place at Carolyn Crayton Park (aka Central City Park).
There will also be special events taking place at other locations such as Downtown Macon which will host the Weiner Dog Race on Saturday, March 16th.
