Ewu Development Association to Host Eilu National Day!
...Invites Stories of Achievements, Community Development Archives for it's Maiden Eilu Festival Magazine.

Ewu 7th October, 2021.

The Ewu Development Association (EDA), an umbrella body of all Ewu people and Development Associations across the world has finalized plans to host the Maiden Ewu National Day tagged Eilu Festival.

The President of Ewu Development Association Prof. Mrs Eunice Omozogie disclosed this historic development to Radio Esan in Ewu after holding a strategic planning meeting with stakeholders.

According to the university Don, Eilu Festival is a revival of Ewu Historical and Cultural Heritages aimed at enhancing unity of Ewu People worldwide and also to create interest in our culture, arts and history.

With the nod and support of the Onogie of Ewu Alh. Barr. Rasak Ojeifo III, after meeting with Ewu Sons and Daughters across the major cities in Nigeria, the Eilu National Day is an event that is bound to succeed and will grow to greater heights while promoting the tourism potentials of the ancient Kingdom.

This is to inform all Ewu Sons and Daughters to key into this project and contribute in whatever way possible to make it a success. "Apart from the land of Ewu, we have no other place to call our own. The onus is on us to enhance her growth and development", Comrade Godswill Inegbe, one of the planners told Radio Esan on phone.

The Ewu Development Association use this medium to invite realistic stories of those who has contributed in one way or the other to the growth and development of the Kingdom in whatever capacity. We shall also publish Goodwill messages of Indigenes as well as provide ample positions in the magazine to advertise and promote businesses and enterprises.

The Eilu National Day Magazine 2021 tagged: 'Eilu Festival" has the vision mission to celebrate Ewu and her heritage, to reawaken interest in Ewu Culture and traditions, to promote business and enterprises in the kingdom as well as serve as a compendium of the progress and Development of the community over the years.

Wisdom Group of Schools Igueben Wins Edo Central Science Quiz Competition amidst jubilation!

Ewu 30th September 2021.

Wisdom Group of Schools Igueben emerged the winner of the prestigious Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition, lifting the main trophy and first cash prize.

Sacred Heart Girls Model Secondary School Ubiaja came second followed by Ujoelen Grammar School Ekpoma emerging third position.

The event was impactful, educative and creative as confirmed by stakeholders.

Arch. Dr. Chief Mike Onolenmemen, Chairman of the event as ably represented by Prof V. U Okojie, in his speech, re-interated the importance of science and technology in nation building.

According to him, "Mathematics and Science improve your problem solving skills and make you smarter in life". He encouraged participants to take their studies and career path very serious.

Comrade Odianonse Odine of the Odine Odianonsen Foundation talked at length about the importance of science education and appreciated the role of EYO in coming up with such a creative educational initiative. He said "We will continue to partner, support and promote good education.
Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition is Worthy to emulate", he opined.

The renowned community developer congratulated all the participating teams and stakeholders for the successful outing. Odianonsen posted the Congratulations message on EYO enlarged platform saying: "Congratulations to the Winner, first and second Runner-up and all participating schools.

Mount Camel Group of Schools, Ujoelen Grammar School triumph in Esan West LGA!
..as Comrade Jude Obasanmi donates five thousand naira to Ujemen Secondary School!

The famous Mount Camel Group of Schools and the prestigious Ujoelen Grammar School both of the University Town of Ekpoma beat other contestants in Esan West to emerge as the winners and thus qualified for the Grand Finale Event slated for 30th of September 2021.

Outcome of the highly competitive event in the LGA was made available to Radio Esan by Comrade Jude Obasanmi, the Chairman, Planning Committee and the coordinator of the LGA.

After filling in the result from the center, Comrade Obasanmi told Radio Esan that he is delighted at the outcome of the programme across the Senatorial District.

Obasanmi expressed deep gratitude's to all the officials in all the centers who dedicated time and expertise to make the event a huge success.

While thanking the participants for their conduct and performance, he also donated 5,000 to the management of Ujemen Secondary School, who emerged third position and very well behaved. The donation according to the university Don is to enable the school attend the grand finale in Ewu as observers.

EYO Appreciates it's strategic partners, says "our partners are deligent, trustworthy, dependable!

Ewu 23rd September 2021.

Following the successful hosting of the first round of the biggest educational event in Esan Land tagged: the Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition, the Esan Youths Organization (EYO) has commended and appreciated all it's strategic partners and stakeholders who made the event possible.

Speaking to newsmen in it's headquarters in Ewu, the organization specifically commended it's officials who came from various parts of the country to officiate the historic event.

In a statement signed by Comrade Kingsley Ohens which he made available to Radio Esan, the Organization said:

"We are overwhelmed with the commitment and dedication of our in-house and external officials. Their effort is mostly behind the success of the programme.

Comrade Ohens particularly appreciated Comrade Jude Obasanmi PhD of the Josemaria Excriva Foundation, Engr Fidelis Edokpa of the Ewu Progress Foundation, Prince Tijani Ojeifo of the Tijani Ojeifo Movement, Comrade Queen Ekhator, Mr Daniel Okojie, Hon Ehizogie Iyeomoan, Reuben Erons, Ehimen, Principals of the central schools where the events took place and many other partners, students, parents, school management, etc who took part in the competition.

May God almighty grant them safe trip back to their various destination", Ohens told Radio Esan excitedly.

The stage is now set for the grand finale event holding on the 30th day of September 2021 at the Hall of Idunwele Girls Secondary School Ewu Edo State.

The grand finale is tagged: the Fight of the Titans and dedicated specially to the legend of masses education, Prof Ambrose Alli in his Blessed Memory 32 years after death.

Esan Schools Observe a minute silence in Memory of Late Prof Ambrose Alli!
... unanimously call for the preservation of his heritage's!

Irrua, Uromi, Ekpoma, Igueben, Ubiaja 23rd September 2021.

Senior Secondary Schools across the 5 Local Government Areas in Esanland who converged at the central schools for the famous first round of Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition, simultaneously observed a minute silence in honour of the legend of masses education, Late Prof Ambrose Folunsho Alli of blessed memory.

This followed an opening speech delivered by the President of Esan Youths ORGANIZATION (EYO), Comrade Kingsley Ohens.

In his speech, Comrade Ohens extolled the Sterling virtues of Prof Alli going down memory lane on his great sacrifices, service and contributions to the betterment of the masses and common man, a record that has not been broken 32 years after his death.

He however called on government at all levels to preserve the heritage of the great man by ensuring that the schools and roads he built are maintained and preserved as heritage and ancient landmarks.

The quiz event kicked off after his speech across the five Central schools.

As at press time, the competition in physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology are in full section and results shall be made public in ernest.

Chris Oyakhilome Foundation Lays Foundation for a free primary school in Ewu today!

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation has laid the Foundation for a free primary and nursery School in the home town of the international evangelist.

The project under it's Inner City Mission is to incorporate a hospital and sports facility in the master plan.

Engr. Fidelis Edokpa, president of Ewu Progress Foundation under whose supervision the land for the project was secured for the Foundation, told Radio Esan in Ewu that the project is a replica of many others being established by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome across Nigeria as part of his contribution to the educational advancement of the Nigerian Society.

He said 'this project on completion will contribute to the development of Ewu and Esan community through employment opportunities and quality education for the younger generation.

On behalf of his organization and the entire Ewu Community, Edokpa wholeheartedly thanked the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation and all those behind the facilitation of the project and prayed that God almighty guide and empower the donor to complete and operate the project in record time.

The project is to be sited in an expanse of land in the new market axis of Ewu accessible by the constituents community making up Ewu Kingdom.

Dignitaries present at the ground breaking foundation laying ceremony include: officials of the Inner City Mission of Christ Embassy Church, Community Leaders, representatives of all the sisters organizations of Ewu Kingdom including PA Jerome Idiata of the Eilukhide Social Cultural Organization.

The Edo Yoruba Folklore of Joromi popularised nationwide by Uwaifo: a story to preserve for the next generation!

Benin City 30th August

In celebrating the life and times of Great Victor Uwaifo, it is pertinent to delve into the success story of this great African.

Great Victor Uwaifo came into National and international limelight through the release of his evergreen music album titled "Joromi". This evergreen music sold over 1 million copies in one week, first in history in black Africa. This great feat was broken many years later by 2 Face Idibia with his African Queen.

Oral tradition had it that Joromi, a great African Warrior defeated all the known warriors in his village in a fight. Hungry for more fight, Joromi decided to take the fight to the spirit world since no human was willing to fight him.

The elders warned him against such suicidal adventure because no one has gone to the spirit world and returned alive to tell the story but Joromi refused and took the fight to the spirit world. Only his medicine man accompanied him to the spirit world.

When they got there, his medicine man turned to a fly and perched on a leaf to watch the fight.

Joromi defeated the spirit warriors one by one. He started with the one with 2 heads and killed him, then the one with three heads came and he killed him, another came with 5 heads and he killed him until the one with seven heads came and he also killed him. The king of the spirits warriors came with ten heads.

After a tough fight, the king of the spirit warriors defeated and killed Joromi. After killing Joromi, the king warrior plucked a certain leaf and squized the water into the eyes of all his dead warriors and they all woke up. Exhausted from the tough fight with Joromi, they all agreed to go and rest and to feast on Joromi's dead body the next day.

The medicine man was still watching from the leaf he was hanging as a fly. After they had gone to rest, the medicine man transformed into a human being and also squeezed the leaf the warrior king used in waking his men into Joromi's eyes and he also woke up.

Then they ran for their lives while the spirit warriors pursued them fiercely. At the boundary between the spirit world and the real world, the spirit warrior almost caught Joromi but only succeeded in scratching his back with his long finger.

Joromi and the medicine man came home alive but the line of scratch remain with all humans till this day. A line the modern medicine named the spine.

Unlike Otono of the Umobuarie Fame who could not return alive when he took war to the spirit world, Joromi returned home but with a permanent scar on his back.

Long live the memory of Great Victor Uwaifo who revived ancient folklores in music form.

Esan Youths Organization Congratulates Esan Solidarity Forum, Esan People For the successful take-off of Atanakpa

The Esan Youths Organization (EYO) has congratulated the Esan Solidarity Forum and the entire Esan people of Edo Central Senatorial District for the successful take-off of Esan Security Network code-named Atanakpa, a specialized security force targeted at protecting Esan land from kidnappers and other violent crimes.

In a congratulation message signed by the National President of EYO, Comrade Kingsley Ohens also made available to media in Ewu, EYO stated that: "it's in the spirit of excitement and hope that we congratulate the Esan Solidarity Forum and the entire Esan people of Nigeria for this historic feat - the official take-off of this specialized security outfit code-named the Esan Atanakpa.

We are most grateful to the initiators and executors of this innovation. It goes to show that we are finally getting it right this time. Desperate situation requires desperate and strategic solution.

The Esan Youths Organization is most grateful to God for making this innovation a reality in our own time. We call on the men and officers of Esan Atanakpa to be up and doing and see their calling as Clarion call to service for fatherland.

Esan News Magazine Prepares Materials For Special Edition, Calls For Advert, News Coverage - Advert Executive

The publishers of the community Magazine, Esan News Magazine has indicated it's readiness to publish a special edition soonest.

Comrade Kingsley Ohens, the Deputy Editor/Advert Executive told newsmen in Ewu after an editorial board meeting at Kings Star Hotel and Suite LTD.

According to the Esan media personality, the special edition shall cover the fast approaching Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition and the Ewu Book Fair as well as serve as compedium of register of all the physical projects executed by Esan Political Office holders in the previous and current dispensations.

"This edition will be very loaded, educative and informative and thus reposition the community Magazine for positive goals attainment", Ohens said.

The Esan News Magazine was first published in 2010 by Godsent Jomo Media of Ewu and Great Obiyan Mark of Ubiaja, who where both HND Students of Mass Communication of the prestigious Auchi Polytechic.
The Esan Youths Organization took over publication in 2019.

Comrade Ohens used the medium to call and solicit for articles, adverts, news stories and special coverage to support the community media. According to him, "the community news media is solely for the promotion of Esan development, business and services and it therefore obligatory on our people to support the vision and mission of the media outfit. Esan News Magazine is distributed free of charge to readers and opinion leaders across Esanland", he added.

Odianonsen Odine Foundation, Josemaria Escriva Foundation, others partner with EYO to host 2nd Edition of Edo Central Science Quiz Competition

The Odianonsen Odine Foundation and Josemaria Escriva Foundation have indicated interest to partner with Esan Youths Organization (EYO) to host the second edition of Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition for secondary schools in Esanland.

This was revealed to EYO in an enlarged stakeholders meeting which took place yesterday.

The Josemaria Escriva Foundation led by it's Chief Responsibilities Officer, Dr Jude Obasanmi told stakeholders that his organization will support the educational event with three cartons of textbooks for Junior Secondary School students. He assured that the books will be ready for pick-up on Tuesday at their foundations office in Ekpoma.

In a similar development, the Chairman of Odianonsen Odine Foundation, Hon Odianonsen Odine also promised to support the event with the first prize amount.

In words of appreciation, Comrade Kingsley Ohens, the president of EYO wholeheartedly appreciated the two organizations for setting the pace towards the actualization of the educational event. He assured the donors that their donation will be adequately utilized for the advancement of learning in Esanland.

Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition being organized by the Esan Youths Organization is aimed at fostering unity among Schools and students in Esanland. The event is opened for all secondary schools (public and private) in Edo Central Senatorial District. The event shall among other aims promote interest in science based subjects.

According to Ohens, "the event will hold in two segments namely: the qualifiers stage and the grand finale. The qualifiers stage will hold at the local government level where all the schools in the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial District shall compete in central schools to qualify for the grand finale. A total of 20 schools shall emerge at the qualifiers phase to compete for prizes and trophies at the grand finale", he disclosed.

Comrade Ohens also used the medium to seek for support and partnership from Esan sons and daughters home and abroad saying that "science and technology is the future of any society that wish to be self reliant and self dependent. Esanland will not be left behind in this race. Letters has already been delivered to over 60 secondary schools in Esanland out of the 80 secondary schools. Others will get their letters this week", he added.
