If you really think about it, one of the coolest facets of architecture is the ability to have buildings that are so different – so diverse in size, shape and style-and yet so similar in base. No matter who designs the building, it is built from a plan. No matter what a structure looks like when it is finished, it is always assembled from a collection of natural materials. Whatever the final goal of the building, the golden number was probably used to determine its proportions.

The Island of Kea in Greece seemed to be the perfect place to settle down and enjoy the magical Breeze among the olive trees. This modern house in Kea was seen by the architects Marina Stassinopoulos and Konstantinos Daskalakis as an opportunity to apply the traditional building practices of the island in a modern and very functional residence.
