In 1910, Baroness Orczy wrote Lady Molly of Scotland Yard, about a woman detective solving mysterious crimes. It was several years after she wrote her play The Scarlet Pimpernel. "The great success of this play... has rather an irritating effect upon the author," one reporter wrote. "She is always being told that she can never equal [it]. She thinks she has not only equaled but surpassed it." Phoebe reads Lady Molly of Scotland Yard: https://buff.ly/3NSf3IU
