De Goey and his Addiction to Menacing at Nightclubs.
Re: The Future of Jordan De Goey at Collingwood Football Club.
The disgraced football star Jordan De Goey is no suprise of being a headline for an article. The player has drawn widespread attention to himself with his party boy attitude and his involvement in certain incidents. The 26 year old has played 4 senior games for the Magpies this year and has kicked an applaudable 8 goals.
It all began in 2017 with De Goey (allegedly) punching someone or something at a nightclub in St. Kilda. Lacking integrity, Jordan lied about the incident and claimed he injured it whilst playing with his dog (Labrodoodles can be quite violent). The truth was uncovered and the player was fined $5000 and suspended for 3 matches and an additional 10 weeks of community service. This is where it all went down hill for the player.
One night at a St. Kilda nightclub provided the electricity for the spotlight which would be laid on him for the rest of his career by the media. A year later he was caught drunk driving where he was also reprimanded. Fast forward 2 years where the cauldron really began to brew. Jordan and another man were charged with indecent assault by Victoria Police but charges were dropped and he was cleared as innocent.
The incident in America where he was given a slap on the wrist for harassing a lady in the nightclub was understandably the last straw for the star. But being the Jordan De Goey, he decided to fly to Bali during a bye round and stick his tongue out and wiggle it around like R-Kelly in the presence of a 15 year old.
The stress and media coverage was unhealthy for the football club and they retracted their contract offer for the player and paused contract negotiations. Where does this put De Goey now?
Two big Victorian clubs are possible destinations for the football star but who would want to recruit the ”unrecruitable, deceptive, menacing, tongue wielding and dog fighter” Jordan De Goey?
His football skills are up to par but what about his footy smarts? As the general manager of a football club, I couldn’t care less about how many snaps a bloke can kick, I would focus about what he brings to the image of my club. I want a footy player to be sticking their tongue out and celebrating with his team mates but not sticking his tongue out contracting viruses in Indonesia. What he has done for Collingwood’s image is irreversible and I strongly encourage them to let him. St. Kilda, Sydney and Richmond must consider what they are getting themselves into.
Sources: Trust me bro - this was an opinionated article which does truly contain facts about De Goey’s controversies.
