Several of our friends have expressed an interest in following in our footsteps with the full time RV thingy.

After this storm, here's what I can tell you:

I'm VERY impressed with the performance of our rig during this winter storm. You hear horror stories about frozen tanks, frost on the inside of windows, burst pipes, water heater going out, etc. We've had none of that.

Why? Because we didn't get sucked in by the "pretty" farmhouse decor of a new rig, but instead, went with a beast that was older, but built for full time living.

If you DO decide to take on this lifestyle, here's some things we have that came in handy or gave us piece of mind that you should look for:
Heated tanks (black tank, grey tank, fresh water tank)
Heated underbelly.
5000w propane generator.
Two 40 lb propane tanks on board and an accessory 100 lb tank dedicated to the generator.
Windows and slides with a good seal all the way around.
Fireplace with a blower and thermostat.

Those things, combined with a couple of space heaters and an electric blanket...have made this a cozy and exciting experience instead of a scary one.

Calling on ALL of my friends and followers who believe in supporting one another.

Now is your chance.

Becca was a friend and an amazing woman. We are diminished by her passing. I don't share stuff like this often, but this one is worth it. She was truly an amazing, "live and let live", super intelligent lady and we are diminished by her passing.

She battled a long term illness and was strong until the very end. But because she was unable to work for several months in the end, her children are having a hard time giving their mom a decent funeral and memorial.

Please. I'm begging you to donate what you can to these devastated young adults who are not only grieving the loss of their mother, but trying to make sure her final resting place is dignified.

I don't care if it's $5 or $500. This is a worthy cause that will ease the pain of another human being.

On the road again...🎶
OK. So timing the trip so we went through the heart of Dallas almost at rush hour probably wasn't the brightest.

But check it out! We made it from the coast to Oklahoma in a day's drive.

Not to shabby.

I get to take my king size bed with me wherever I travel.
Yellowstone? My bed comes with me.
Lake of the Ozarks? My bed comes with me.
Gulf Coast? My bed comes with me.

Try not to think about who slept on your sheets before you the next time you stay in a hotel. 😉

Our Day:
Spraying and scrubbing shower doors with CLR.
Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors.
Finishing laundry.
Organizing drawers.
Cleaning stove.

Yeah...this is also what RV life is all about, too. lol.

It's getting real! This is our last month in TX and our last time we have to pay lot rent until next November.

The memories we've made here have been AMAZING. Time spent with new friends, my new tribe of ladies (Affectionately referred to as Sisters of Chaos), time at the beach, hanging out by the fire, sharing Steve's amazing smoked ribs with the rest of the crew...so many memories.

But I'm ready to get back home. My daughter. My woods. My foraging trips. My floating on the Lake with the tunes cranked. Feeding the ducks. The restaurants. My friends.

Reading the above two paragraphs, I realize just how truly blessed I am, and how many memories have been made the last 10 months.

wanted to make my fellow nomads aware of Aransas Oaks RV Resort.
This is an incredible park. Drove through it today and it will be "home" next winter.
Amenities Include:
LARGE pull through and back in concrete pads with grassy yards.
Heated Pool
Generous sized dog park
BEAUTIFUL, well appointed clubhouse with a kitchen area and lounging area.
Giant Laundry Area
well appointed shower facilities
Friendly Management
Potlucks and get togethers
Large ponds (with DUCKS!! 🦆)
Close to everything. The ferry to Port A beaches, shopping, dining, etc but still tucked away and serene.

So what would be the pros and cons to having a Class B camper/van set up in TX permanently, and our behemoth of a 5th wheel set up in MO permanently?

Visiting all 50 states was probably on somebody’s bucket list, but studies show that out of 50 states, 8 is the average number most people have visited. Sadly, many never leave the state in which they were born. Put an X by all the states you have been to. Put a XX where you have lived. Passing through an airport counts--but flying over doesn't. The average is 8 for Americans.
