Yesterday It was an awesome day, flew ifr crosscountry with some friends and I think I did one of the smoothest landings so far in my life as a pilot when approaching to Naples- Florida! 🤤🤩🛬

I haven’t posted anything in a while, but as pilots and flight instructors we are always seeking for the best teaching strategies, for ideas on how to improve our aviation skills, for different ways to motivate our students and keep our knowledge up to date, to have a better teaching technique and be great aviation educators.
Since I started flying I’ve been watching content and Jason Schappert has always been there motivating people to achieve their aviation goals and become better pilots.
A few weeks ago during SUN ‘n FUN, I had the opportunity to meet and share some words with this legend and great mentor, “because a good pilot is always learning”! 💪📚✈️

Como pilotos siempre debemos confiar en nosotros mismos, en nuestro conocimiento y habilidades. Debemos tener claro cuáles son nuestros límites personales y siempre ir preparados para cada vuelo. Así mismo, conocer bien nuestro avión y saber cómo actuar si las cosas no salen como esperábamos. El avión es el peor salón de clase que puede haber cuando no sabemos lo que estamos haciendo.Seamos profesionales y más si llevamos pasajeros abordo que confían y ponen su vida en nuestras manos!…💯✈️
As pilots we must trust our knowledge and skills but we have to know what our personal minimus are. We must know the aircraft we fly and we should always have a plan B if something doesn’t go as expected. The airplane is not a good classroom, if we don’t know what we are doing or we don’t go prepared for the flight. Instead Let’s always be the best we can be, let’s be professionals specially when we’ve got passengers onboard who rely on us!…👨✈️✈️arguello

Hace dos años tuve la oportunidad de invitar a mi esposa a volar conmigo, fuimos a almorzar en Fort Myers’s,Florida. Pasamos un día maravilloso, tuvimos un excelente vuelo de ida y otro de vuelta. Además El FBO es uno de los que más me gusta en la Florida para visitar (tienen unas galletas deliciosas). Ese día comprendí que las cosas se disfrutan más cuando compartes lo que mas te gusta con aquellos que amas, siempre manteniéndolos seguros y felices. Por eso disfrutemos más de cada momento y no nos amarguemos tanto,que la vida solo es una Amigos!🙌❤️🛫
Two years ago I had the opportunity to fly with my wife to Fort Myers, FL for lunch. We had so much fun that day, had two beautiful flights and awesome food; also the FBO is one of my favorites in Florida because they have the best cookies in the world 🍪. That day I learned that we enjoy the things we like more when we share them with our loved ones, so don’t waste your time and enjoy life because we only have one! 🙏✨

A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit and see the actual Airbus A320 that Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and Jeffrey Skiles flew 13 years ago known as the Miracle on the Hudson. The flight, , from New York City's LaGuardia Airport to Charlotte, North Carolina, struck a flock of birds shortly after take-off and lost all engine power. Unable to reach any airport for an emergency landing due to their low altitude, pilots Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and Jeffrey Skiles glided the plane to a ditching in the Hudson River off Midtown Manhattan. All 155 people onboard were rescued by nearby boats, with only a few serious injuries.
It’s so incredible what these pilots did, and from my point of view, is on of the best examples of what it is to be a profesional pilot, a good example of ADM(Aeronautical decision making), and a perfect example of how to act in an emergency situation like this one when you only have a short time to act so you have to focus on the highest priority items and rely on your own experience to make a life or death decision. As pilots, we should always keep in mind that an emergency can happen anytime and that’s the reason why we have to study, train often, and always be prepared by keeping currency and high proficiency in our skills to know what to do and how to properly handle any difficult situation.
And I think the aviation industry has learned that automation can make this industry safer, but when something bad happens and the automation fails there is nothing like having an amazing pilot in the cockpit who can fly the aircraft and bring it down safely!. 👨✈️✈️🦆🌊 💯

SUEÑO CUMPLIDO:
Desde que era niño mi sueño siempre fue ser piloto de aviones. Siempre pensaba en aviones, hablaba de aviones y miraba hacia el cielo cuando escuchaba pasar un avión cerca a mi casa, a pesar de que pasaban muy alto. Las condiciones económicas de mi familia no fueron las mejores y a medida que iba creciendo lo único que escuchaba cuando hablaba de mi sueño de volar era personas diciéndome cosas como “eso no se puede”,”usted no sirve para eso”,”eso es muy costoso”,”eso es imposible”,”eso es solo para personas millonarias” o lo común “olvídese de eso que eso nunca va a pasar y póngase a hacer otra cosa”; sin embargo hubo siempre una persona a mi lado , dándome ánimo, quien ha creído y confiado en mi desde el principio, incluso cuando fuimos juntos a una escuela de aviación en Bogotá a averiguar el precio de la carrera y salimos más desanimados de lo que entramos, en ese momento me inundaban pensamientos negativos en mi cabeza, y me preguntaba a mi mismo si algún día lo podría lograr. si esa persona es mi MAMÁ. Hace poco tiempo tuve la oportunidad de volver a casa, de ir a mi país COLOMBIA 🇨🇴 y poder compartir unos días junto a mis padres 👨👩👦. Estando allá les pude mostrar mi licencia de piloto comercial 👨✈️ y poder compartir la felicidad de haber alcanzado esa meta que siempre he tenido a pesar de que las cosas no han sido fáciles para poder lograrlo y a pesar de que es un proceso de crecimiento y estudio diario. No puedo expresar la felicidad que me dio poder tomarme esta foto con mi mamá, y escuchar su voz diciendo “FELICITACIONES MIJO, YO SABIA QUE LO PODÍAS LOGRAR”.
Debo decirles que ha sido uno de los mejores momentos de mi vida, y quisiera que cada persona que lea esto se motive a seguir luchando por cada meta que tenga,sin importar que tan duro sea, cada día es un nuevo día para luchar por lo que queremos.Así que háganle duro mijitos que yo se que lo pueden lograr. Spin Training: 🎢🙃🛩
Being just days away from my CFI checkride, I have to say that this flight has definitely been the best part of my CFI (flight instructor) training. I never thought I would fly inverted in my life but I completely loved it, also feeling the g’s and learning how to properly recover from a spin was totally worth it. I know I will never forget it! ❤️✈️

A pocos días de mi chequeo de CFI debo decir que este vuelo ha sido la mejor parte de mi entrenamiento para ser instructor de vuelo. Jamás imagine poder volar invertido, aprender a recuperar el avión de un spin o barrena y sentir las gravedades al hacer giros y maniobras,lo considero definitivamente uno de los mejores vuelos de mi vida, jamás lo olvidare!. 🛫
