Texas’s primary is on Tuesday, March 1st, and it’s the first statewide election since the Texas Legislature passed SB 1, which set several restrictions on voting accessibility across the state. Today we’re talking about the changes to voting by mail, or absentee voting, and the various hurdles that elections administrators and voters now face to get all mail-in ballots counted. This video is for you if you’re a Texas voter wondering how to check on your ballot or how to fix your ballot.

Remember in April I talked about how the City of Austin was voting on a measure to restructure their government (GRWA Ep 1.04: Texas May Elections)? The City of Buffalo is proposing the same thing. Very curious timing, given the incumbent mayor did not win the primary against a Democratic Socialist, though the measure would not appear on the ballot in time to invalidate this year’s mayoral election.

A city manager would be selected by the nine-member Council in conjunction with the community to "carry out the will of the Council members," University Council member Rasheed N.C. Wyatt
