Yup, I’m officially a ambassador…unreal. It’s hard to explain how much this partnership means to me. Not only will my new high wing be powered by one of the most advanced aviation engines ever made, it also goes full circle, back to little JP who dreamt of nothing but to fly.

In the early 90’s Rotax helped pioneer a new category of aircraft that made flying more affordable, safer and accessible. Without them, and the compounding effects of their remarkable engines, I would likely never have been able to afford to learn to fly. So for me, this is a huge deal.

My Sling will be powered by the Rotax 915iS. And here’s why I’m ridiculously excited about it. 

I can get high. Really high. 23 000ft + if I have to. On my upcoming round the world flight, this can be a lifesaver. It allows me to get above nasty weather, and pick up favourable winds. The 915iS’s high altitude performance also means I will have no problem playing in the backcountry on hot summer days. Endless adventures to be had.

Fuel. The 915’s ability to run a wide variety of fuels, including mogas and carbon neutral full synthetic fuels, means I am no longer limited by the availability of leaded avgas. It also means I am a whole lot kinder to the environment while doing what I love.

I can’t wait to fire up my Rotax 915iS and explore every corner of the world. Literally. Exciting times ahead!

I miss Canadian flying adventures. I honestly cannot wait to start travelling again. I’ve quite enjoyed being landlocked this year, it’s been good to slow down, but cabin fever is setting in. Who’s gonna join me?!
