The country has once again been hit by the most traumatic news, opening up old wounds and leaving families and friends shattered…

Two families have suffered the brutal loss of their family members to murder in the name of ‘love’ while another person took his own life still involving issues of ‘love’.

The police have confirmed that on the 25th of September around 19:30hrs, a 44 year old woman was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend who is 33 years. The man who fled the scene later turned himself in, on the 27th September 2021. This incident took place in Tlokweng, Letlapeng ward.

On the 2nd incident, Officer Commanding, Theriso Thatayotlhe of No.3 District revealed that still on the Saturday of the 25th, a 25 year old lady was also stabbed to death by her 29year old boyfriend at Masetlheng ward in Tlokweng around 13:10 hrs. The 29 year old was arraigned before the Extension 2 Magistrate Court today (28. 09. 21).

In other matters, a man in his thirties (30’s) was found hanging on a tree yesterday in Oodi and according to the police, preliminary investigations show that he had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend before taking his life.
