Happy 1st birthday to us!

Our hybrid spirits bottler/record label is now approaching toddler-hood. We are so proud.

A very precocious child, because our whisky that we launched a year ago has already won some serious awards, including a Gold Medal at the World Whiskies Awards! And our rum is sublime as well. Just look at the joy on Paul's face as he cradles those gorgeous bottles.

We're excited for what's on the horizon with this special music/spirits venture. There really is nothing like it, if we do say so ourselves!

Felipe's awfully chuffed in this picture. This was right after he ever saw our Rhythm and Booze Records rum in a spirits retailer. Even better, it's at the incredible London Bridge shop from The Whisky Exchange.

We're hugely honoured that they thought our rum is tasty too!

Our 2024 has kicked off in style with not one but two brilliant reviews!

Angus at Whiskyfun.com has called our award-winning whisky 'an excellent drop', while Malt, known for being a picky bunch, says of our rum 'it’s as wonderful to sip as the music is to listen to.'

We think they're lovely tipples too, and a wonderful way to start off the new year.

This is insane. We've won best blended malt between 13-20 years old at the World Whiskies Awards! It's our first award, for our very first whisky and we couldn't be prouder. We knew we were onto something special with this.

There's an official portrait of Felipe with his certificate somewhere but here he is in the wee Friday hours outside The Jazz Bar while celebrating.

We're so grateful for this - it's a confirmation we're on the right track with our crazy spirits/music dream, and we're just getting started.

Boom. It's here.

As far as we're aware, this is the world's first rum paired with original music. We've now got a tasty 4YO single barrel Trinidad rum paired with the tropical vibes of Feli y Los Malos.

We're, pleased, proud, and looking sharp in the suits kindly provided by Walker Slater when we did the shoot for the pics, with FyLM saxophonist Jonny White also doing bottle modelling duties.

And just look at that gorgeous label by Adrian Borque Illustration.

We think this is a delicious concoction for the ears, nose and palate. We hope you do too.

We're very proud to introduce the band featured on our rum launching tomorrow! Here's one of the tunes that will be on the release.

Feli y Los Malos is a latin pop quartet featuring label co-founders Felipe and Paul as well as Edinburgh musicians Rob (keys) and Jonny (sax).

There's some other amazing musicians on this particular track, with backing vocals from Cha Pulse and Emma Morton and some excellent guitar work from Marty Hailey.

All of it was beautifully recorded and mixed with love and care by Graeme Young and mastered by Reuben Taylor.

What a lovely review from Ruben at WhiskyNotes.be for our new release! We think it's pretty tasty too.

"Sweet onset of maple syrup, with a nice maltiness again, walnut cake and orange peels. Then a few raisins, subtle hints of forest berries and plenty of baking spices. Caramelized hazelnuts. More leafy to***co again. Later it gets slightly dry and leathery, evolving towards dark chocolate in the end."

Welcome everyone! We're Rhythm and Booze Records. We're approaching the music industry a little differently, by blending together the best music with specially curated spirits.

For each of our releases, the bottle's front label showcases the featured band, and on the back label you'll find a QR code leading to a private link where you can stream and download the band's tunes to enjoy as you sip your chosen spirit.

Our first release, a single cask 13 year old blended malt matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry butt, is paired with music from label founders The Rhythm and Booze Project and launches on Thursday. We can't wait to share it with you.
