Your art/photography can be featured on our next cover! The process is simple! Just submit your artwork/photography on our website and our team will review it to be featured on the cover. If it isn’t chosen for a cover feature, it can be reviewed to be in the magazine. Our cover artist/photographer gets a page in the back of the magazine with their bio and more information on how they can be contacted for commission opportunities. We have been receiving overwhelming support and many letters from those that are currently incarcerated at state correctional facilities. We DO ship to prisons and rehabilitation centers. If you would like to gift your loved one a magazine, please send us at note during checkout. With processing at the security centers, it takes about 4-5 weeks for them to receive their magazine. We ensure any content that may be flagged is blacked out prior to shipping.

Our readers in the aforementioned facilities have said our magazine provides them hope and inspiration and we have also published articles sent in by some of our readers as well. If they are interested in submitting an article, poem or art, send us an email so our team can review their work for future issues.

It is with heavy hearts we say rest in power to Allen Butler who transitioned yesterday. Allen and his wife, Lenore welcomed us into their home to tell us their story and let us into their trials and triumphs so we could share with you. Allen was a father figure to many, an amazing husband, hard worker and a genuine, kind hearted person. It has been a blessing to experience his kindness. We send our thoughts and prayers to those that love him most.

In our last issue of BLK Voices Magazine, Concrete Rose, we learned about the work Shonda N. Fadden is doing to provide a home for young girls 12-18 years old. Her vision to help young girls displaced in the foster care system is the hope and mission we need to see in this world.

When we block out negativity from people that don’t see your true potential, we are able to fully step into our light. It is a powerful feat to be able to transform the doubt of others into a success story just like Lenore Johnson and Allen Butler. From our last issue, Concrete Garden, we were able to learn about the inspirational story of the way this couple reclaimed their power, against all odds and kept trying with little to no help until they were successful.
