42 year old Sidney Sean Mecham, was arrested after an officer on a motorcycle was alerted to man driving a pickup truck into the closed route of the annual Grand Floral Parade in Portland, Oregon on June 10, 2023. Refusing to stop, the Portland Air Support Unit was called in which then began following his truck and was able to update the officers on the ground. He was then arrested after he eventually stopped near an intersection. Sidney Mecham was booked at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, attempt to elude and reckless driving. He also has a long criminal history including multiple s*xual abuse charges and is a registered s*x offender that dates back to 1996.

Mackenzie Shirilla, who was 17 at the time in July of 2022, deliberately drove into a brick building in Strongsville, Ohio, going 100 mph instantly k*lling her boyfriend Dominic Russo and his friend, Davion Flanagan. Mackenzie, now 19, was found guilty of 12 charges including m*rder and was sentenced to 2 terms of 15 years to life in prison which will run concurrently where she will be credited for time already served.

30 year old Filipe Valesu, among 11 others, face life in prison after what is considered Australia's biggest drug bust in history. Authorities recovered over 2.4 tons of co***ne valued at 1 billion US dollars, off the Western Australia coast by intercepting members of the Mexican cartel on boats named Cool Runnings and The Catalina who were on their way to deliver the drugs to Australia.

53 year old Kimberly Coates, a 3rd grade teacher, was confronted on August 17, 2023 by school resource officer Shane Dean and Perkins-Tryon School Superintendent Doug Ogle regarding possibly being intoxicated. Kimberly began to say that she had taken medicine for anxiety the night before but was unable to name the medication. She then agreed to take a breath test, during which she blew a blood alcohol concentration of .24 — three times the legal limit of .08. After Kimberly refused to call someone to pick her up at the school, law enforcement placed her under arrest and escorted her from the building. Kimberly Coates was taken to the Payne County Jail, Oklahoma, and is expected to be charged with public intoxication.

On August 5, 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama, a brawl broke at Riverfront Park's riverboat leading to 13 people detained. Allen Todd, 23, Zachery Shipman, 25, Richard Roberts, 48, and Mary Todd, 21, were charged with 3rd degree assault which is a misdemeanor in Alabama. 42 year old Reggie Ray, who has been confirmed to be the one swinging the chair, turned himself in Friday and was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. He is currently housed in the municipal jail.

In Fremont County, Idaho, Lori Vallow Daybell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after she was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of conspiracy for killing two of her children, 17 year old Tylee Ryan and 7 year old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, and conspiring in the murder of Chad Daybell's first wife, Tammy Daybell.

Richard Piland, an inmate at the Loudoun County, Virginia detention center, is suing for $7 million dollars after he suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns from a forced 45-second shower on February 4, 2022. Richard had covered his cell window with toothpaste so he was escorted to a nearby shower but became combative so officers put him into a restraint chair, then back to the shower. Bodycam footage shows Richard screaming in agony while officers just stand there. Once evaluated by medical, an investigation took place to determine the device that is supposed to control the water temperature to not get above 110 degrees, failed causing the burns. 22-year-old Richard Piland was originally arrested and charged with aggravated s*xual battery of a 22-year-old woman at a house party where she woke up to pain and Richard laying in bed behind her. He claims to have been drunk and not remember the incident. The jury found Richard Piland guilty, has yet to be sentenced for that crime and the $7 million lawsuit is ongoing as well.

On January 1, 2023, a Marion County, Florida Sheriff spotted a man that matched the description for someone wanted for arson who was later identified as Jessie James Kropp. After attempting to pull over the suspect, Jessie fled and later got out of his car with a bat and knife in hand. A sheriff tased Jessie which had no affect and proceeded to flee on foot where he succeeds in losing the sheriffs. After K9 Jax was deployed to follow Jesse’s trail, he alerts to have found him but no one can see him. Then, a sheriff spots him in a tree to which they proceed to make commands to come out of tree for 11 hours. Once apprehended, Jessie James Kropp was charged with second degree arson, grand theft of a vehicle, fleeing and eluding as well as resisting an officer without violence. Jessie is currently being held without bond and awaiting sentencing.

On October 4, 2015 in Lancaster, Ohio, the daughter of Angela and Daniel Luke called 911 to report that Daniel was harming Angela while begging for him to stop hurting her mother. The daughter and Angela finally escaped to her vehicle where Daniel followed. Daniel Luke apparently was holding onto the car while Angela reversed, causing her to run over Daniel. Daniel Luke died of his injuries at a local hospital. Angela Luke was faced with charges of reckless homicide and aggravated vehicular homicide but all charges were dropped when this 911 call was made public.

On May 20, 2023, body cam footage that was released by the Loveland, Colorado Police Department, shows 28 year old Officer Russell Maranto punch 59 year old Angelia Hall in the face after she spits on him. Angelia was originally arrested for being combative and refusing to show a form of identification after multiple calls came in that she was running in front of cars in the shopping center parking lot. Russell Maranto was fired 3 days later and is now facing a third-degree assault charge, which is a misdemeanor in the State of Colorado and is punishable by up to 18 months in jail and/or fines of up to $1,000.

On March 10, 2023, Little Rock, Arkansas troopers received multiple calls about a man driving an ATV erratically on the highway. Upon trying to get him to pull over, he lost one of the wheels of the ATV but continued driving at 60mph. Eventually blocking the guy in and arresting him, the man gave the name James Jackson. He was taken into custody on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated where he blew a .013. When he got to jail and was getting fingerprinted, he told police his real name is Curtis Jackson and James Jackson was his brother.

In Rhode Island, police found 41 year old Matthew Reilly, now-former Cranston City council member, choking while asleep in the driver’s seat of his car with a crack pipe in his hand on May 15, 2023. Matthew, who claimed he had sleep apnea, was arrested and charged with drug possession after the substance found in his car tested positive for crack co***ne and fentanyl. He resigned from the city council as well as his position as chairman of the Cranston Republican Party on May 18th, after pressure from the mayor and other council members. Matthew Reilly was released from jail pending his court appearance on June 15th.

19 year old Alexee Trevizo from New Mexico was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence then arrested on May 10 after allegedly giving birth to her baby in a locked hospital bathroom back in January, then hiding it in a trash can where nurses later found it deceased. Alexee pleaded not guilty but an autopsy ruled the baby’s cause of death was in fact a homicide. A judge ruled on Tuesday (5/16) at Alexee Trevizo's pre-hearing trial, that she will be released so she gets to finish the school year. She also won’t have to wear an ankle monitor and won’t be under house arrest. Alexee Trevizo’s trial date has yet to be scheduled.

On November 9, 2022, 33 year old Johnny Anchondo, of Moreno Valley, California led Fullerton police on an over 100 mph car chase all the way from Orange County to Whittier. Police attempted to initially pull over Johnnie for traffic violations, but it immediately turned into a high speed chase including multiple stolen vehicles and collisions with bystanders and patrol cars. In his last attempt to flee, Johnny dumped the stolen van and then proceeded to run into a family's home in Whittier, where he grabbed keys and stole a work truck. Upon being cornered by police, Johnny was arrested, and charged with multiple felonies including carjacking, burglary, leading police on a chase, resisting arrest, eight counts of assault with a weapon on a police officer, five counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of theft with a prior felony conviction for auto theft, and three counts of vandalism. On top of all that, Johnnie Anchondo was charged with evading a peace officer, driving against traffic, three counts of hit and run with property damage, a count of brandishing a weapon, a count of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia which are misdemeanors in the state of California. Johnnie is facing up to 54 years in prison if convicted of all charges at his trial that is yet to be scheduled.

On March 27, 2023, 58 year old Brian E. Mason confessed to shooting Michelle L. Elliott while he was allegedly showing her how to use a pistol. Brian told police that after the gun went off, he panicked, covered Michelle with a blanket and left in his truck. After investigating the scene, they found Michelle dead from a gunshot wound. Brian Mason was taken into custody immediately, arraigned on a murder charge where he pleaded not guilty. The murder charge filed in Miami County, Ohio Municipal Court was dismissed. His new charge of reckless homicide, if found guilty, carries a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Brian Mason’s bail was set to $10,000 and his pre-trial hearing was on April 17.

64 year old David Koubeck from Mentor Ohio, was originally pulled over by a Willoughby police officer on September 10, 2022, for speeding and not wearing his seat belt. After arguing and resisting orders, the police officer attempts to restrain David while 4 citizens rush to assist until other police officers arrive and arrest him. He was charged with assault and resisting arrest along with the other traffic violations. David Koubeck was released on bond.

After entering, she opened fire killing 3 children and 3 adult employees. Being a school Audrey had once attended, investigators say she had several writings including a map of Covenant School with drawings of potential entry points and plans of targeting other locations. It was also discovered that Audrey took multiple gun training courses prior to the event. Audrey Hale was shot and killed after being confronted by the police. Jordan Brown and Yasmin Forester from Bradenton, Florida were pulled over for a routine traffic stop for having illegally tinted windows on February 2, 2023. During the stop, troopers found out that Jordan had 21 arrest warrants in three counties for charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a firearm, domestic battery, criminal mischief and reckless driving. They also discovered three bottles with 1,500 pills identified as generic Xanax along with two grams of ma*****na. After being taken into custody, Jordan was charged with false identification to a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of ma*****na. Yasmin was charged with the same minus the false identification charge. Both Jordan Brown and Yasmin Forester are currently awaiting sentencing.

In Westby, Wisconsin on April 29, 2022, Amanda McKaig was traveling 106 mph in a 30 mph zone. Upon being pulled over, she said she was on her way to school and refused to exit the vehicle. After attempting to restart the car, the police chief of C**n Valley pulled Amanda out of the car and placed her under arrest with the assistance of a bystander. When inside the police vehicle, Amanda attempted to rip the tape off of the box that was left in the back. Amanda insisted she just receive a ticket and be on her way. The passenger in Amanda's vehicle was released at the scene. Amanda was charged with multiple felonies including reckless endangerment, attempted fleeing/eluding, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and multiple traffic citations. Amanda McKaig pled no contest to the misdemeanor charge after a plea deal was made for the felony charge to be dismissed. She served two months in jail awaiting her court date then was ultimately sentenced to 2 months but accredited for time served.

Maurilio Torres, 33, and Ivania Garcia, 19, two undocumented immigrants were arrested in April 2022 after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they found nearly $700,000 worth of he**in during a traffic stop on I-75 in Hernando County. They were put on police radar after someone called in suspicious activity claiming they saw a large transfer between 2 vehicles at a rest stop. When finally pulled over, Maurilio and Ivania had a fraudulent Arizona license plate, gave troopers false identification and taken into custody. A drug-sniffing dog named Titan, was released to the vehicle where troopers found 5 and half pounds of drugs. They were both charged with He**in Trafficking, Distribution of He**in and Possession of a vehicle for Drug Trafficking. It is unclear if they were deported or what their sentencing was.

Brice Rhodes is accused of shooting and killing Christopher Jones in May of 2016, then later that very month, he and Jacorey Taylor allegedly killed Larry Ordway and Maurice Gordon, 2 teen brothers. Police have said the two were killed at Brice's home in Clifton, Kentucky then dumped in a near neighborhood and set on fire. Brice Rhodes allegedly killed the two brothers because he feared they would tell police about his involvement in Christopher Jones' murder. Brice's trial has been put on hold due to a court-ordered competency evaluation and is being held on a $1 million all cash bond. He has since threatened to kill his co-defendant Jacorey Taylor, spit on multiple attorneys assigned to him, and threaten judges. Brice still faces the death penalty and his trial is expected to be sometime this year.

On October 16, 2014 in Lakewood, Washington, Skylar Nemetz fatally shot his wife Danielle in the back of the head after coming home from infantry training. He claims he was checking the gun to make sure it wasn't loaded and the gun went off when Danielle was sitting at her computer desk. After being charged with first-degree murder, the jury could not come to a unanimous decision of first-degree murder but, instead, found him guilty of the lesser included offense of first-degree manslaughter. His total sentence amounted was 13 and a half years in prison and the court granted 37 days of credit for time served. He will be released from prison in 2029.

Michael J. Olson, 35 at the time in June of 2019, fatally beat and stabbed Mary Kay “Katie” Wohlfarth in her storage unit right across from his storage unit in Akron, Ohio. Michael was later questioned, confessed to the murder, and then convicted of felony charges of aggravated murder, r**e, gross abuse of a co**se, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and trespass in a habitation. Judge Amy Corrigall Jones sentenced him to life in prison without parole for aggravated murder, with more than 20 years to be served consecutively in connection with the other charges.

In Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Henry Raskin, a 70 year old man was pulled over for speeding, doing 58 mph in a 35 mph zone in 2008. He received a ticket, and was told to go on his way when he accelerated in reverse hitting the police car behind him. Henry Raskin was charged with reckless driving and later convicted, fined $220, and ordered to attend a traffic safety class.

Lindy Jones, 19 at the time, fatally shot Willie Antoine Fields on August 2, 2019. Lindy is shown in a South Carolina courtroom when Willie's father, also named Willie, punches Lindy Jones in the head and wrestles him to the ground. They were both quickly escorted out of the courtroom. After pleading guilty, Lindy Jones was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Willie Fields was charged with one count of contempt of court and third-degree assault and battery but it is unclear what he was sentenced to, if anything.
