THANKFUL FOR TRUCKERS
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from all of us at TNN! We hope you enjoy this special tribute to truckers everywhere. "A Truckerville Thanksgiving" Each morning you awake early to that glorious sound, “Ahhh those diesels humming,” you think, as they resound. There’s no time to waste though, now you’re on the clock, Your dispatcher demands your ETA to the loading dock. So you perform your pre-trip, then it’s hammer down, The white lines on the highway lead you out of town. With coffee in your veins and eyes wide on the congested roads, you spend your day dodging four-wheelers texting on their smart phones. A few travel passed with a honk and a smile, while others curse you as a nuisance, mile after mile. On time you arrive to the shipper only to be told, “We’re not ready for you now, you’ll have to wait to unload.” The hours tick by and your frustration builds, So you call your dispatcher again and he says, “just chill.” That’s when you tune your radio and what do you hear? A government lawmaker spreading untruths and fear. “Truckers are dangerous, trust us, we know! Do what we say and it will save lives on the road.” He says, "like a criminal, you should be tracked," His campaign contributors ensure the deck is stacked. Oh, but your sacrifices deserve more thanks than this. After all, you’re the reason our way of life exists. Our cupboards would be empty and our dinner tables bare, If it were not for you and how much you care. You’re a breed unlike any, spending most days alone, providing for your family, but gone more than you’re home. You don’t do it for fame or a fancy house in the hills, All you ask is for respect, and enough money to pay your bills. So on this Thanksgiving and always, we at Truckerville declare, Thank You to the “Knights of the Road” and truckers everywhere.
