Several weeks ago, I received documentation from employee morale and retention feedback (see attached excerpts).
The intended and/or unintended consequences of policies and practices are felt by those who have to live under them...parents, students, teachers, and school-based administrators. People should never be intimidated into silence because they fear the outcome of openly speaking the truth and advocating for students' and/or their professional needs.
Some would ask why I did not support collective bargaining, as this appears to be an obvious solution to improving employee morale. The answer is simple. You cannot buy a modification of culture and behavior by imposing more bureaucracy.
