Recap of the book of Esther:
☼
There is a drunk, terrible man of a King named: Xerxes
☼
He asks his queen to parade her beauty to his drunk friends / important people of that time
☼
Queen Vashti says -Nah bro I’m good
☼
King Xerxes does not love that - so he decides he will just hold a beauty pageant & get a new, more gorgeous queen (what a sweetie🙄)
☼
Enter: Esther. Of great character & drop dead gorgeous - but secretly a Jew 🤫King Xerxes is Persian
☼
Esther becomes Queen. Mordecai (father figure to Esther) butts heads with Xerxes right hand man Haman.
☼
Haman declares all Jews be annihilated. Mordecai (also Jewish) asks Esther to plead with the King to not let that happen.
☼
Chapter 4 is where Esther does what is so commendable. She chances her life by pleading to the King to overwrite Mordecai’s declaration & then reveals her nationality.
☼
The King listens to Esther, honors her wishes, & spares her life
☼
The self seeking Haman is sentenced to the same death he tried to give to the Jew Mordecai. THE AMOUNT OF IRONY. The King cancels out Haman’s decree in favor of the Jews!!
☼
Because of Esther’s faithfulness - A drunk, womanizing, Persian King willingly helps the Triumph of the Jews 🙌🏻 🤣Like what???!? Only God.
☼
God is not mentioned at all in the book of Esther - But you can see Him in every chapter. Between each paragraph.
☼
It takes some time to see - but this story was so clearly orchestrated by God
☼
If you are wondering where God is during a time where you can’t see Him, where you don’t understand the point, where you even see the terrible truths that are in the world sometimes — be faithful anyway.
☼
Have hope anyway. The Lord will show up. He literally cannot be anything other than faithful.
