This year showed many of us that really, truly, life is all about how you handle plan B.
Last December at this time I was parting with one airline to take a little break and then join another carrier. During this break, I went to study Spanish in Cuba (keep on going Universidad de La Habana you guys are awesome!) and then was supposed to travel for a bit before I start training for my new job in September.
Well, yeah.
2020 had other plans. It was quite the nightmare having to leave Cuba with one of the last flights before the island got completely isolated; cross half of the world when everybody was scared to leave their house; spend 24 hours in the airport in Moscow, with no visa to enter the country, while flights were getting canceled every minute, not knowing if I will make it back home, or if I will be a real-life case of the movie "The Terminal".
And then the email came. I knew that I would get it one day, but it still hurt when I read the words "We regret to inform you that the process of you joining the airline has been put on hold."
Now what? Flying has always been one of my most favorite things. But besides that, it was my job. I was left without a perspective and completely lost.
I started looking up things to do online. I had come across the concept of a Virtual Assistant a few times before, and the idea seemed quite tempting. I started doing some research, but OMG there's so much info! I couldn't figure out where to start!
And then, on a random Facebook thread in one of the thousands of groups about traveling girls that I follow, I started a very interesting conversation with the lovely Ana Dobrevska Social Media & Podcast Manager. It was funny, we first spoke for a while in English before realizing we are both Bulgarian! She gave me all the info about the greatest course, as she swore.
And she was right!
I started the course a bit later without much doubt and quickly found out who Eshter Inman and her awesome team running the Virtual Assistant Internship are! The journey with them has been long, but I loved every minute of it!
And now, after all, I am a !
