I posted this a few months back, but I wanted to remind myself to bring this way of thinking into 2021, and strive to improve it every single day.
Here I am, 30 years old. I have cellulite, some fat here and there and these weird brownish stains on the inside of my thighs (anyone else have those? 🙋🏻♀️)

Not at 25, not at 21, not even at 15 would I EVER think of posting a photo of myself, by myself in a bikini. For YEARS I wouldn’t even wear a bathing suit without a shirt over it.

Back then I was much thinner, I had cellulite, fat here there and those same weird brown spots on my inner thighs. What changed?

PERSPECTIVE.
⠀
All I thought about back then was:
1. People must think I look gross.
NO ONE THOUGHT THAT
2. I wish I looked like (insert whatever photoshopped version of a celebrity I saw on social media)
THEY DIDN’T EVEN LOOK LIKE THAT
3. I want to be skinny.
I WAS SKINNY. I STILL HATED MY BODY.

Now, I think:
1. WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT THEY THINK?
2. MY BODY IS UNIQUE. I CAN’T EVER LOOK LIKE ANYONE ELSE AND I DON’T WANT TO EITHER.
3. I WANT TO BE HAPPY AND I AM!

It’s hard to do when you’re a perfectionist and even harder when you’re trying something new. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is sit back, take a deep breath and laugh at yourself. Which is exactly what I did here, after I stuttered, mumbled and froze through the same lines about 15 times.
