My God!!! Enough is ENOUGH already. Truly, how many more kids have to die? How many more parents and families have to suffer??? This is insane; however, NOT the last of it. FOUR years ago I produced a show addressing this very issue. This year alone, there have already been 27 school shootings. Absolutely heartbreaking. When I shot this intro, I walked into a Charlotte, NC school that my child did NOT attend just to see if I could. I DID, and it was easy. Students let me in. I walked past school leadership who not only didn’t question me but said hello. As I left, walked past the front office, and the security desk which was unattended.

In various conversations, I suggested that every person should go to through metal detectors before entering schools. Before I moved to NC I went to school in NYC and that’s what we did. There were metal detectors in my HS. When I shared this people were shocked. “OMG!!! Children shouldn’t have to go through that.” really? I guess you’d rather them goes through this. What can we do to minimize if not prevent school shootings??? This is crazy.

God bless all of the students, families, and communities affected by gun violence…especially at school. ♥️🙏🏾♥️

Event will run from 11 AM to 6 PM on Friday. Partners include the Park Expo, the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, DreamKey Partners, StarMed, and Legal Aid of North Carolina

CHARLOTTE – The Office of Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) will host an “Emergency Rental Assistance Application Pop-Up & Vaccination Clinic” event on Friday, October 1 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Park Expo and Conference Center in Charlotte. RAMP CLT staff will be on-site to assist constituents with emergency rental assistance applications.

Additionally, from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM, constituents will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Event Details
Who: Open to all Mecklenburg County residents
What: Emergency Rental Assistance Application Pop-Up & Vaccination Clinic
Where: Park Expo and Conference Center, 800 Briar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28205
When: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Why: Assisting constituents with Emergency Rental Assistance applications; providing resources to housing-insecure families; offering vaccinations to eligible residents.
Note: The ERA application portion of event is for new applicants only. Applicants with a current application on file with RAMP CLT do not need to attend.
