BOUNCE BACK: delay is not denial.
Russell J. Ledet, 34, spent four years patrolling the doctor's parking lot at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, where as a security guard, he watched people in white coats come and go out of the building. He only would fantasize about what life could be like for him if he was one.
On a one beautiful day, he asked one of the doctors if he would "shadow" him during patient visits and the doctor amazingly accepted his request respectfully. Ledet would then move him him to patients during rotations, and surgeries and would learn a few things there.
7 years after serving as a security guard in the same hospital, Ledet is assigned there again as a medical student. He is a third year medical student at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is pursuing his dream after years of setback.
Lesson: If you don't give up your dream, you will certainly get there nomatter the set backs and time lag. However, you need to position yourself and grow daily while on your pursuit.
COVID-19 and its related impacts may seem to have overpowered you, and delayed opportunities in your career, education, goals and dreams but stay awake--don't slumber. The time will come.
