St. Xavier's College professor Rabiul Islam to : The stigma of 'Muslim vote-bank' is a media creation. Muslims’ votes have mostly been well- distributed among different secular parties.

Why do we not talk instead about Hindu vote-bank which got the BJP 18 seats in the last Lok Sabha election in certain pockets?

When CPM was ruling here, in North Bengal mostly Congress got the Muslim votes. Muslims were never a vote bank here. In the last Lok Sabha election, we saw how Hindu vote bank emerged here, but no media talks about it.

Anti-CAA protests that started in December 2019 brought to the forefront several young and old Muslim women across the country, many of whom were participating in civil-rights movements for the first time. What triggered them to join the movement, and how were their experiences. More importantly, over a year later, how has the public-protest changed their lives?

Moderated by feminist rights-activists Dolon Ganguly, the third episode of the discusses these and much more with three young students and activists from Kolkata. The panel comprises Nousheen Baba Khan, a PhD Research Scholar, and anti-CAA activist, Mahwish Khan, student and anti-CAA activist; and Barshana Basu, a Student at Jadavpur University.
