Imagine being pulled over and fearing for your life from the very ones who are to protect and serve. Every time a black person is pulled over by a police officer, we are afraid, even if we haven't done anything wrong. Imagine doing what you are told to do and yet someone is still yelling for you to do the very thing that you've already done. Imagine that being done to you over and over and over again. What would you think? Why are they doing this? Are they trying to confuse me? Are they going to kill me? I'm sure at this point Tyre was thinking- I have to get out of this situation by any means necessary, or I'm going to die. I mean I'm already doing everything they are asking and it's not working. Listen, we are human, we have two ears, but can only hear one thing at a time. Everyone screaming multiple commands. We can't understand every command. Even if the world has told you that we are not human, that we have a higher tolerance for pain, it does not make it true. They try to make it seem as if we do not experience pain the way as others. They try to make us monsters, and it is sad that some of us Black people are starting to believe their lies. We are human just like everyone else. We have emotions, we feel pain, we have mental illnesses, we cry, we love, we have people who love us, we matter, we make a difference, we are smart, we are intelligent, we are creative, we are talented, we are beautiful in every shade, we work hard, we play hard, we like to have fun, we get sad, we get scared, we love the Lord, the Lord loves us. We just wanna go home. Leave us alone!
