What line would you cross, and why? In this week’s episode, “The Believer” (The Mandalorian Chapter 15), we go deep into that question—plumbing the depths of honor, extremism, and vengeance.

Like a Clone Wars or Rebels episode brought to life, this episode is an utter treat and absolutely kicked up a notch in preparation for the finale. “Pulpy” and “iconic” are words that come to mind as Mando gets the gang together and Bill Burr blows the roof off of a really good script.

Next week, we finish Season 2 of The Mandalorian and finally put The Book of Boba Fett in our crosshairs.

Having met The Jedi (kind of) and rehashed the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff of Ahsoka’s journey, we braced for The Tragedy.

The tragedies (from The Mandalorian, Chapter 14) are as follows:

✨ The Child is stolen.
✨ The Razor Crest is disintegrated.
✨ Boba Fett only gets to shatter the helmets of, like, 15 Stormtroopers, when we would rather watch it all day.

This week, we’re covering themes of honor, promises, life debts, and what we owe each other. We also talk about cool Force hotspots/seeing stones, and the tension between the remaining Jedi and the New Republic. But mostly we fangirl over Boba Fett.

PS: We recorded this episode prior to the reinstatement of Jimmy Kimmel to the air, but we stand by our divestment from Disney Plus and our unwavering commitment to the First Amendment.

Standing up for what is right is always going to be inconvenient. But hey! If a Star Wars podcast can divest from Disney Plus, it’s possible for anybody ✌️

We’re not going anywhere, and we’ll see you right back here next week. Same time, same place, same commitment to free speech.

“I’ll tell you this, if I could do it again, I’d wake up early and be fighting those bastards from the start.”

We took a quick break from The Mandalorian to set up our next major arch-enemy: Morgan Elsbeth. ✨

We thread our discussion of “Tales of the Empire”—“The Path of Fear,” “The Path of Anger,” and “The Path of Hate”—with analysis of the anti-hero’s journey, Morgan’s motivations to join the Empire, and Thrawn’s desire to see order created out of chaos. We also shake our fist at Star Wars for always killing off their witches, and sing our praises for the baddest Grand Admiral of them all.

We met the Marshal, we escorted the Passenger, and now we’re meeting the Heiress—then fighting through the Siege.

Our discussions from the early season 2 episodes of The Mandalorian wind through discussions of parenting, radicalism, M-count transferal, and what we’ll do for love.

We also dig into the (alarmingly well-organized!!) Imperial remnants who keep popping up around the galaxy. Then, we give a performance review of Cara Dune as the Marshal, and spin theories on how Rangers of the New Republic might have gone.

What a delight to be part of the live show tonight, where talked about Heroic Female Characters (And Why We Need Them).

(Okay, spoiler alert, we were SUPPOSED to be talking about “Strong Female Characters” but Anna may have had thoughts and feelings about that terminology.)

Oh baby, we’re so back.

With twists, turns, and one of the largest monsters ever seen in Star Wars, The Mandalorian’s second season starts with a cannonball.

In our recap of Chapter 9, “The Marshal,” we gather a basket full of Easter eggs—and identify how they serve the plot, not just the vibes, of this dragon versus cowboys mashup. 🐉🤠

We weigh the influence of both Camelot-era fantasy and spaghetti Westerns, discuss perceptions from a first-time viewer, and wonder what (if any) Season 1 criticisms the show may be reacting to in its Season 2 premiere.

Shrouds of love long gone hang heavy over “Tales of the Underworld”—especially Asajj’s love affair with Quinlan Vos from Dark Disciple (2015). But these lovely animations are also full of surprising tenderness, self-determination, and a willingness to start new.

In “Cad’s Tale,” we examine how, and why, Star Wars chose to tell a police drama, a spaghetti Western, and a Mafia crime ascendancy in the same story. We parse the fantasy of the “good cop,” wonder about Cad and Niro’s legacy, and discuss the critical reception of this sort of harrowing story.

More than any of the Tales, “Asajj’s Tale” feels like a fully realized work of art. We track Asajj’s journey through the Star Wars timeline, compare her with her foils—Anakin and Ahsoka—and sing our praises of her decision to honor her lost love by dedicating herself to his work.

(We may or may not have a shed a tear about Asajj’s new family, too.)

Cad Bane doesn’t just steal holocrons and Force-sensitive children…he also pulled a heist on our audio files!

Due to a corrupted file, we have to re-record our recap of “Tales of the Underworld: Cad’s Tale.” Unless someone at knows why our Audition file sounds like two angry R2D2s yelling at each other??

If you miss us this week, check out our Patreon. Last week we rewatched Rogue One and recorded our thoughts post-Andor. This week, we have a 1-hour episode on Claudia Gray’s “The Lost Stars.” Link in the bio! ✨

It’s the end of an era. And so many lives.

In the Andor Season 2 finale…

✨ We trace the ways that Andor knits itself together into the wider tapestry of Star Wars, specifically by tying itself to Rogue One.

✨ We question whether the Rebels’ sacrifices are cheapened by Luke Skywalker’s heroism in Episode IV.

✨ We define heroism through two key characters—Bix and Nemik.

✨ And, of course, we investigate the reasons why Rebel High Command is…like that. (Seriously, why??)

We also name our favorite aspects of Andor, and crown it the ultimate Star Wars show.

Our hearts are heavy this week as we compare the Empire’s actions on Ghorman to real-world parallels.

As we’ve recapped Andor’s “What a Festive Evening,” “Messenger,” and “Who Are You?” (Andor S2, E6–8) we’ve drawn connections to the Gleiwitz incident that kicked off WWII, student massacres in Tiananmen Square, and sniper deaths in Syria—plus the Los Angeles protests and Minnesota political assassinations. It has not been a fun week, y’all!!!!

Join us as we talk false flag operations, compare the story of Ghorman to that of Lothal, and ask whether non-violent protest would have gotten the Ghormans any further.

(Plus, we finally close the chapter on Star Wars’ most compelling couple.) 😭✋
