Scratch records is based out of a residential property at Seven Hills on Brisbane’s south east. However should your project require the use of a larger space or commercial facility, we have multiple options and can quote accordingly to your requirements. How many songs can I do in a demo recording session? Thats really up to you, however we recommend that no more than 3 or 4 songs for a 3 hour recording session. This allows time for multi tracking of all instruments, parts, vocals and some basic editing. This also allows for some time to listen back to some takes and gives us both the opportunity for feedback and reflection. How do I get my final product from Scratch Records? Scratch records will supply all mastered and RAW tracks to you via dropbox/google drive links usually within 7 days of your recording session, however if you require them earlier, just let us know. Can I hear some examples of Scratch Records work? Yes absolutely, just drop us a line and request we send you some example work, and we will send you some example work most suitable to the style of music you wish to record. If you can let us know your genre and style, we would be most appreciative. How does payment work at Scratch? Once we have agreed on the package price and date, Scratch will supply you with an invoice. We simply ask for 50% deposit paid either via EFT or in cash, to book in and reserve the studio time for tracking, and balance is paid by the end of the tracking session. You’ll be supplied all masters and RAW stems within 7 days of the session. How do revisions work at Scratch? We appreciate the mix down/mastering process is a refining process and different artists like different things. So, at Scratch we allow for 1 round of revisions included in your package whereby you can give us feedback on the masters and what you would like amended to bring the masters in line with your goals and tastes. How much does it cost to work with Scratch? We strive to work with all artists on a budget and offer demo recording packages which cover recording, editing, mixing, mastering and deliverables. Absolutely, we have years of experience in the industry from booking, touring, management, and pretty much every other area. Whether you need contacts, merchandising, graphic design, website construction, general advice, or help getting plugged into the local scene, we can help out with and get you in the right direction! Just sing out and we’d be more than happy to assist. What if I needed to cancel/reschedule the recording session? No dramas, just let us know, there is no charge to reschedule your session if you need to, however if you are not planning on rescheduling, and cancel within 48 hours of the session you would be forfeiting your deposit.
