Too many STEM researchers publish their work without involving their Technology Transfer Office
Too many STEM researchers publish their work without involving their Technology Transfer Office (TTO).
This implies that you may be losing numerous opportunities to patent and commercialize your work, which could negatively affect both the influence of your research and your prospective financial gains.
What's Holding You Up?
- Is it the time commitment of patenting process?
- The perception of a higher reward from a published article?
- Uncertainty about royalties?
Let's hear from you!
Early engagement with your TTO unlocks valuable insights into your research's commercial potential.
Your Voice Matters!
I am writing a book that compiles the best practices of TTOs for the early detection of patentable elements in scientific discoveries. This book will be published as a free eBook to facilitate the diffusion of deep technology-based innovation.
If you work in a TTO and frequently face the challenge of persuading researchers to collaborate with you, or if you have successfully found a way to make researchers your strongest supporters, your insights would be highly valuable.
Similarly, if you are a researcher who consistently prioritizes publishing your work over patenting it, or if you have a practice of working closely with the TTO before submitting your research to a journal, I would greatly appreciate your perspective.
Your contributions to this topic will not only be beneficial but will also be acknowledged in my upcoming book.
I invite you to join me for a virtual coffee to discuss further. Please feel free to book a slot in my agenda:

Dr Amir Feizpour is the Man to Know in the world of AI, he leads one of the most dynamic global communities of AI practitioners and researchers in the World.
I’m fascinated by the stories of great inventors and innovators who challenge the status quo, particularly those who lack a formal education in science, engineering, or design.
Hereafter, I share a fascinating story.
From unclogging wine bottles to revolutionizing childbirth - this is the inspiring true story of Jorge Ernesto Odón, the mechanic turned inventor who changed the face of the medical world.
It all started in a Buenos Aires garage, where Jorge witnessed one of his technicians using an unorthodox technique - using a plastic bag to extract a cork stuck in a wine bottle.
His curiosity sparked, Jorge couldn't help but wonder how this unconventional trick could be applied to other situations. And little did he know, his idea would lead to a global innovation.
One restless night, Jorge tossed and turned, and then it hit him - what about women in childbirth, facing life-threatening complications? With this epiphany, Jorge began experimenting with household items to design a revolutionary device that would make childbirth safer for both mothers and babies.
Armed with determination, Jorge went on to convince obstetricians of the effectiveness of his invention. Despite initial doubts, his perseverance paid off when the device was successfully adopted, marking the beginning of a medical revolution.
With the support of BD (Becton Dickinson, an American multinational medical technology company), Jorge's invention became a reality, and it has already saved countless lives and improved the health of newborns. But his vision doesn't stop there - his goal is to make this technology accessible to developing countries.
This incredible story is a reminder of the power of observation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. And most importantly, the importance of listening to and valuing innovative ideas, regardless of where they come from.

Observation + Creativity + Entrepreneurship + Open-minded Brazilian physicians to an idea from stranger = Global innovation

Spatial Contamination of Mmangroves and Carbon Storage
Hélène Plihon is a geochemist and PhD candidate who is a member of the laboratory "Marine Environmental Chemistry" led by Dr. Stéphane Mounier and Dr. Christos Panagiotopoulos at the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography of Marseille.
Hélène's research focuses on mangroves, with a particular interest in the spatial contamination of mangroves and carbon storage in Ceará, Brazil.
Mangroves are vital ecosystems that provide numerous benefits to local communities and the wider world. They are known to sequester large amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. However, mangroves are also under threat from various sources of contamination, including industrial and agricultural pollution.
By studying mangroves in Ceará, Brazil, Hélène is shedding new light on the spatial distribution of contaminants in this important ecosystem. Her research uses a range of analytical techniques to identify and quantify various pollutants in the environment, and to understand how they interact with different components of the ecosystem.
Overall, Hélène's work is crucially important for informing policies and practices aimed at protecting mangroves and mitigating the impacts of climate change. Her research highlights the need for continued efforts to monitor and address pollution in mangrove ecosystems and the value of understanding

Mathematics is not meant to be expressed in words, and therefore mathematics should never be taught in words and sentences!
The language barrier is the number one cause of children dropping out of school.
Based on this fact, Tahereh designed Magrid Learning Solution.
Tahereh Pazouki is a computer engineer and holds a PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Luxembourg. During her research, she applied her computer science skills to the field of cognitive psychology.
This is how the startup Magrid Learning Solution was born.
Magrid offers a revolutionary solution to teach maths to primary school children without a sentence, and now the solution is available for parents and children at home!
Designed for children aged 3-9, the solution enables children to build and develop their understanding of maths at their own pace.
In recent years, Magrid has won several awards, including the World Summit Awards Global Championship in learning and education, an award from the European Investment Bank and the MIT Solve Challenge.
Magrid caters for the needs of all children including those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, AD(H)D, hearing impairments and second language learners.
The Magrid solution is so effective that 100% of schools in Luxembourg have adopted it, and many private schools in France, Portugal, the UK and the USA have adopted it.
Join us for a great moment to discover Tahereh's journey and a live demo of Magrid, followed by a Q&A session.

Holy Grail of immortality
