Two new instrumental themes, "Velvet Nights" and "Clean Livin'" will finish production this week!

Then...a new up-tempo praise song "Faithful Heart" is on the heels of those tunes with guitar by Josh Lutz and Gary Lunn on bass. Still deciding on a male vocal for that tune...

It's always a blast to see the progress from a rough guitar, bass, loop demo I provide to the finished track...(especially when I get to work with extremely talented guys like Sam Mizell!)

I use BMI for music rights/licensing administration. Initially just as a writer...but with the addition of songs that might make the air or that others may want to record (hopefully)...I felt like I needed to take a closer look at publishing as well.
I applied to BMI to be able to use name Faithful Heart Music in publishing, but it was already taken...rats! But Faithful Heart Entertainment was available...
One call to Bryan Charles with my favorite color (Ferrari yellow) and a couple minutes to rework the logo and Voila!...a new logo is born. This is how the publishing rights will be handled (and hopefully there will some...)

Working on a new instrumental (I think) EP with friend and awesome talent, Sam Mizell!

The first tune, "Velvet Nights", a smooth jazz instrumental, is almost done...and even in its rough form...I love the feel.

These are tunes that I have been writing and imagining for a couple of years. A couple had some dust on 'em...kinda/sorta finished, others just have "good bones."

Sam is re-imagining them and adding his incredible vision, chops, feel... and a very cool vibe. (You'll recognize some of Nashville's finest players in the mix as well.)

This is a low budget project...but there won't be anything low budget in the product...I promise! Don't worry...you won't be getting any "Go Fund Me" requests. If the money isn't in the bank...we'll just work a little harder and wait till we have what it takes to do it right...well... right to my our standards.

So stay tuned if you'd like. We're excited about what's coming!

Silver Moon Tonight...

When you have grandkids...your thoughts often go to the special, memorable bedtimes. It's often when they open up about their day and share their thoughts and feelings. It's a tender, precious time. That bears remembering. I tried to do that in this song. Becca Mizell sings it so passionately...I love it. I hope you will too.

The song focuses on reaction of one of the Magi who used the stars to help him foretell the future now sees his own future in the Christmas star. This is his journey to the Christ, The King!

Working with Sam Mizell and company on a couple of instrumentals I wrote a while ago...but needed work including a bridge. Sam is the man! We've worked on a few tunes in the past and he's done some killer programming and arrangements. Can't wait to let you folks hear these next two!
