Work In Progress: Sage Gateshead Artist in Residence Geoff Kirkwood and Royal Northern Sinfonia
Sage Gateshead shares work-in-progress from the venue’s Artist in Residence Geoff Kirkwood.
Geoff grew up in Wallsend, and is best known as a DJ, producer and performer by the name Man Power. As one of four Sage Gateshead Artists In Residence during 2020/21, Geoff has been working under the alias of Bed Wetter on a piece called A Nexus in 8 Movements. This 45 minute audio-visual symphony was conceived as a celebration of working class people in Kirkwood’s native North East, and around the world.
The final piece will be shared live in concert during 2022. Ahead of our In Residence weekend, featuring gigs from other Artists In Residence, Sage Gateshead is excited to share this work-in-progress video captured during a rehearsal and recording session in March 2021 with Royal Northern Sinfonia and conductor Fiona Brice - Music.
