Just like rediscovering a favorite book long forgotten on the shelf, The Man of the West is dusting off a project idea that’s been waiting patiently for its moment.

But here’s the catch: you’ll have to wait until next Tuesday, January 21st, to learn what it is! In the meantime, here are some exciting updates about what’s on the horizon.

The Prancing Pony Podcast is Returning to YouTube!
At long last, we’re relaunching the Prancing Pony Podcast YouTube channel, with a target of going live by the end of the month! This channel will become the home for more than 400 hobbit-sized episodes of Today’s Tolkien Times. Over the following months, we’ll also be adding Rings of Power Wrap-Up and Prancing Pony Podcast content, so you can enjoy all of our Middle-earth discussions on YouTube once more.

Video Podcasts May Be Coming!
Alan is also exploring the possibility of recording The Prancing Pony Podcast on video starting next season—cohosts willing, of course.

To make it easier to find us, most of our social media accounts will now use the handle , including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and more.

This project might grow to be a great one...but it's name you must discover for yourself! Mark your calendars for January 21st to find out what Alan has planned, when it’s happening, and where you can tune in. We’re thrilled to share this new chapter with you!

Great news, RoPWU & PPP families! Alan here - I'll be attending SDCC and doing a book signing of Why We Love Middle-earth at the Mysterious Galaxy booth on Friday, July 26 from 5:00p to 5:30p - so if you’ll be at ComicCon, come by and get a signed copy of WWLME!

And yes, I’ll also be attending Amazon Prime Video’s exclusive reception for Season 2 of The Rings of Power on Thursday evening and will happily share my take on what I learn there, as well as their big event in Hall H on Friday!

Sara, James, and I will be getting the RoPWU party started sometime in early August with a special preview episode of RoPWU as we look at all the trailers, press releases, magazine articles, and other info we have for the upcoming season.
