Several people were injured during a shooting at the Super Bowl parade.
Two armed people were taken into custody amid an ongoing investigation into the incident. A fire official confirmed that “eight to 10 people” were injured during the shooting.

Our first Holiday Explosion was a success! We welcomed hundreds of kids to our venue for various free Holiday activities. This family fun event included visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, playtime with the Grinch, jumping in bounce houses, getting free haircuts from Edgecombe Community College Barber School, enjoying the hot chocolate bar, pancake station, cookie decorating, ornament making, face painting and frozen custards from Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers! Check out the awesome pictures from this weekend just to see how much fun everyone had. We want to give a special thank you to all of our vendors that helped make our event great for our community! We also want to give a big THANK YOU to Edgecombe Community College Barber School for taking time out of their busy schedule to provide free haircuts to the kids, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers for giving our free custards and Dairy Queen, Nash Community College Cosmetology and the Mudcats for donating prizes to giveaway at our Holiday Explosion!
