On today’s show a panel of esteemed guests and I will act as judge and jury on a selection of songs. Once again, I’ve mined the rabbit hole that is YouTube, Bandcamp and Spotify to bring you a selection of songs for your consideration. Let's revisit Episode 18: In Love Again. Fall in love again with love songs. Over the next two hours, we’ll swoon together to some classics and some new odes to love. Love covers the good, the bad, and the ugly, and not all love songs are happy; we are just as likely to mourn a lost love in song as we are to celebrate a new love. List of poetry and playlist below.

On today’s show we’ll meander through a random set of music, as in random music I like. You may think it’s cheating or lazy that there’s no theme, but actually random things is a great theme in my opinion. How many times does something seemingly random happen in your life and it turns out to be an important event? For me, a perfect example of this is mining YouTube, Spotify and Bandcamp for random music and discovering hitherto unknown musical gems. I don’t know what I’m looking for, I just start to browse and acts come up in the feed. It’s arbitrary and random, but it’s a great way to search for new music as it isn’t constricted by your taste. You have to have an open mind and sometimes you have to listen to a song a few times.

I'll also chat with author, Ruth Stacey, on her memoir ‘Everyone is here to help – a healing account of postpartum psychosis and recovery’ and I'll tell the fascinating tale of love on the gallows. Playlist below. Links below to some important websites.

On today's show I'll discuss musical guilty pleasures. Many of us have songs we’d rather not confess to liking for fear of harsh judgment or mockery. We shouldn’t be embarrassed or secretive about the music we love. Maybe it’s time we rethought the expression ‘guilty pleasures’ not as something to keep hidden, but as music that has broadened our musical horizons and made us happy. Playlist below.

On today’s show I’m looking back on my youth to review the mixed tape. For those of you who, like me, turn to nostalgia to get your warm and fuzzy feels, the mixed tape brings memories of a time when crafting the perfect blend of edgy and avant-garde with dreamy and moody was paramount. The mixed tape was like a resume for your peers advertising how educated your music tastes were and cementing your reputation as the coolest cat in town. Playlist below.
