As part of my goal to share my knowledge about brand identity. 🦋 I will be posting little snippets of information, such as defining and clarifying marketing terms to help you learn more about improving your coaching brand. 💗

For this post, we will be talking about the term ✨ brand/branding™️ ✨

A brand is the perception of your business or company.

Your brand is what your audience has in their heads when they think about what you do, or what your company is. It's held together by your values, your services and/or products, and the way you communicate with your audience. It's built by what you write online, your testimonials, how your products are packaged, how your services are accessed, your logo, social media pages, website, and more. Whatever your audience interacts with your business affects their perception of what you offer.

Branding is the term for influencing this perception. You're not able to control what everyone thinks or says about you but branding is doing your best to make the impression you want to create in people's minds.

Branding, brand identity, corporate identity, identity system, brand strategy, and logo designs? These are terms that marketing has all over the business industry. A little confusing but I'm here to help and clarify these terms to help you understand and improve your coaching brand 💗

📌 A brand is the perception of your business or company.

Your brand is what your audience has in their heads when they think about what you do, or what your company is. It's held together by your values, your services and/or products, and the way you communicate with your audience. It's built by what you write online, your testimonials, how your products are packaged, how your services are accessed, your logo, social media pages, website, and more. Whatever your audience interacts with your business affects their perception of what you offer. Branding is the term for influencing this perception. You're not able to control what everyone thinks or says about you but branding is doing your best to make the impression you want to create in people's minds.

📌 Brand Identity is a brand's set of visual elements

This may also be called corporate identity or identity system. These are the tangible elements that your audience can see when you communicate with them. These are your logo, colors, fonts, graphics or icons, websites, social media pages, etc. I create brand style guides for my clients so they can always be consistent with their brand identity.

📌 A logo is an imprint that represents your brand.

Your logo is what you're recognized for. It's what you've identified with but it doesn't really need to say every single thing about your brand. It is a quick prompt for your audience to remember everything they've experienced with your brand.

📌 Having a brand strategy is crucial to brand identity design.

Good brand identity design is consistent and having a brand strategy means understanding your perception of your brand and your audience's perception of what your brand is. These two should connect well.

📌 Why it's important to hire a brand identity designer or a brand strategist?

It's important to think about investing in good brand identity design whether you're a growing business or a small start-up. The work will benefit your business as it could help you attract more clients or customers, stand out, look established and form long-lasting connections with your audience.

What type of content do you produce on social media to attract clients? 🤳

For online coaches, having a social media presence is important because no matter who your client avatar is, most of them can be found scrolling around social media looking for inspiration and/or entertainment.

Today, social media marketing is one of the main tools that brands have to target their audience, and for you as an online coach and entrepreneur, we must learn how to use this tool to our advantage. Your future clients are looking for inspiration and they need to spot your message right away in the fast-paced world of social media.

It takes less than 7 seconds for you to catch someone's attention on social media because of the constant scrolling everyone does, and because the average human attention span does not last more than 7-8 seconds and for you to be able to catch that attention, you need more than just typing your message in a post box and sending it out to your page.

Creating striking and professional visuals will help your message get that attention. SHOW instead of just telling. The world of social media is visually overstimulated and your message needs to catch up. I regularly see posts of aspiring coaches talking about how they struggle in choosing their niche, and/or their target audience. As a coaching brand strategist, I have also been in the same situation before but what I've realized over the past year of studying business and marketing is that I needed to build the foundation of my business- which is choosing my niche. I had to dig deeper into discovering more about myself as an individual and as a service provider and businesswoman. 💗

The more you know about who you are, what skills you have, the things you are passionate about, and who you want to serve, the better you will be able to help your clients, yourself, and your coaching brand flourish 🦋

One of the design trends we see this year is the Blur & Grain. The gradient trend has been popular for the past few years but designers have looked into creating more designs with more blurry and blended backgrounds. 🎨

Combining gradients and grainy textures creates a realistic effect for your design setting and having a background like this allows the elements in the foreground to pop. This design evokes a grungier mood or effect.

Do you believe that how you see yourself reflects your coaching brand? 👁️

To effectively serve who you want to serve, to create solutions for the people you want to support, and to change lives, we must first understand who we are to know how to do this.

I regularly see aspiring coaches struggling to pick their niche, and/or their target audience. I, too, as a coaching brand strategist have been in the same spot before but I've realized that looking into myself was the solution to this problem. Another problem came after realizing that. Sometimes, we think beyond ourselves when we try to discover who we are and what we can do, and what I mean by that is we try to see ourselves from other people's perspectives. This is what I have stopped doing.

In order to fully see our true potential, to create significant change in the lives of the people we serve, we must get to know ourselves from our own perspectives to truly know who we can help them and what we can offer them. So try to avoid falling into the trap of looking into other people's lenses of how they see you and trust yourself and your skills. No one knows you better than yourself. 🦋

"If I'm an online coach, would a logo, a set of colors or graphics really help me? How would these things even help me get clients?" 🤔

Maybe you've wondered the same thing as well. Logos, colors, graphics. These may not seem important to some people, especially in an industry where in some cases, the only thing you may think you need is to tell your story and talk about your message but ignoring the power of visual branding is like intentionally missing the biggest opportunity you can get in attracting most of the clients you want.

As an online coach, you are operating a business and a good business always has good branding. So why is branding so important? It's not really just the logos, the color palette, or just the graphics. It creates familiarity, fondness, and reassurance in your audience and the way that visual branding helps to represent your brand's story is it creates this quick and memorable impression and in the world we live in today, everything is fast-paced especially when you're operating your business on the internet.

Visual branding will help you create a strong impression for your clients to know what to expect, for you to stand out from your competitors, and for you to be able to clarify what exactly you offer and be able to attract the clients you want to work with.

Ask yourself how you want yourself as an online coach and as a business to be perceived. How does it look like? If you already have an idea, perfect! You are well on your way to attracting more clients by making a good impression. If not, don't worry! Branding is a process and if you want to make this process as easy as possible, I'm willing to support you with branding knowledge! ✨

Here are 5 tips for good social media graphic design ✨

👀 Maintain readability: Don't overwhelm your audience with different typefaces, choose 1-2 fonts so your content is easy to read.

🎨 Be consistent with colors: If you already have brand colors (which is a key aspect for digital marketing), utilize them regularly to unify your design.

🌬️ Let it breathe: Create distance between certain elements in your design for a comfortable view and to avoid information overload.

📏 Do NOT neglect alignment: Alignment is important for any design element. Creating a balanced and well laid out design is essential.

✨ Create contrast: Setting a focal point in your design requires contrast whether it's the difference in color, shape, size or typeface.

Visualize a better you and start showing up as her.

As kids, we've always been asked the question: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and truth be told, when adulthood comes a-knocking, it may not about what you want to be anymore, but what you have to be, but you don't need worry too much, you are not alone with that feeling.

We may all be going through different situations, experiences and phases in whatever stage of adulthood we're in but whoever you are, you have at least one limiting belief about yourself that's stopping you from expanding your potential. According to Psychological research, whether you've had good or bad childhood, a limiting belief may still develop. (Brain Power: Limiting Life Through Limiting Beliefs, 2019).

Avoid the habit of being hypercritical and be a child who can answer that question with a hopeful mindset- free from limiting beliefs and has a clear vision of who her higher self is. Of course, you're not as innocent as a child anymore, but use that wisdom and strengthen it with your highest potential.

Let go and let your higher self guide you to where she is.
So, where do you want to go? What do you want to have?

Who do you want to be?

Let go of your limiting beliefs and allow yourself to be better and feel better.
