I’m sure many of you will be saddened by the news of Jeff LaBar’s death today, aged just 58. Jeff was the long time lead guitarist with glam metal band Cinderella. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. RIP

Sunday Rock Show - 9am News

Over the last few months I’ve really enjoyed doing my rock show which goes out every Sunday evening. I really hope everyone has enjoyed tuning in......Unfortunately next week’s show will be the last of my weekly series as over the coming weeks and months, I will be getting myself prepared to performing with my own band The Mersey Beatles once again with lots of shows now being announced in the UK, Spain and USA for the rest of the year. I will however, still try to put together a show every month if I can.

So, for my final weekly show next Sunday, I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to announce that my very special guest will be the singer John Waite who was in mega successful bands such as The Baby’s and Bad English and also recorded the massive worldwide hit ‘Missing You’. My other special guests next week will be Earl Slick who was the lead guitarist with David Bowie and John Lennon. I will also have local musician Arthur Kerevan who was Cy Tuckers guitarist for many years, and Paul Davies, who was the lead singer with my very first band Jonville Rode.

Massive thanks to all of my guests too, some of whom have played a massive part in inspiring my musical life. In the meantime, hope you can tune in to tonight’s show where I will be chatting to Mick Pointer (Arena, Marilllion) and local guitar legend Gary Murphy.

I have part one of my exclusive interview with Grammy award winning songwriter Desmond Child from his studio in Nashville whilst playing some of his most successful songs. I will be chatting to the guys from superb British rock bands The Treatment and J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls, whilst also reminiscing with local musician Mark Harley where he also chooses his two jukebox heroes. I will also be playing ‘3 of the best’ from Bon Jovi whilst also playing lots of great rock classics including Aerosmith, Kiss, Joan Jett, Twisted Sister, Neil Young, Bryan Adams, Judas Priest, The Who plus lots more, including a brand new theme tune....what will that be?
